Blaby District Council is seeking a Housing Accommodation Coordinator to join our dedicated Housing Services team.
The Role
As a key member of the Housing Services team, you will assist with the management of temporary accommodation for homeless households, working closely with Assessment and Case Officers to ensure effective service delivery.
You will provide administrative, financial and property management support, exercising judgement and initiative in a varied role that includes managing accommodation records, rent accounts and financial processes, carrying out property inspections, and liaising with landlords and partner agencies.
You will play a pivotal role in helping to ensure vulnerable customers receive high-quality support and accommodation during challenging times.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
- Experience working within a customer service and administrative environment.
- Experience of financial administration, including managing rent accounts and accommodation records.
- Experience of checking, verifying or reconciling financial records, including transactions involving significant monetary values.
- Experience of office management, including the development or implementation of administrative procedures.
Given the nature of the service, emotional resilience is essential, as you will be managing sensitive and complex situations involving housing and safeguarding. You must hold GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (grades 4-9/A*-C) and have a flexible, team-focused approach to service delivery. A full driving licence is also required for this post.
This role will require a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service check (known as a DBS check). All offers of employment will be made conditional upon receipt of the satisfactory DBS check.
