Family Matters is a preventative service which encompasses teams of family workers supporting families at level 3/4 on the continuum of need. As a family worker you will be responsible for managing a case load of families, some of whom may have a social worker as part of the support being offered, or it could be that you as the family worker, are co ordinating that support alongside other involved colleagues, such as education or health.

The successful candidate must have a good working knowledge of safeguarding practices and demonstrable experience of working with families with complex needs. The My SPACE team is based in Sefton and its priority is to support and help children who are at risk of exploitation (criminal and sexual) and who go missing from home.
Your role as the Missing from Home Intervention worker, &nbsp;will be to visit children (within 72 hours) who have gone missing from home and offer Return Home Conversations which are trauma informed and child centred.&nbsp; The aim of the Return Home Conversations is to gain insight into the child’s experience when they have gone missing and explore reasons as to why and to develop safety planning to prevent future missing episodes occurring.
Other aspects of your role will include safe and well visits / keeping in touch visits for&nbsp;children who experience Missing from Home episodes.

Chelmsford City Council are looking to recruit a qualified HGV Mechanic / Vehicle Technician to work as part of our Operations Services team who maintain the Council's fleet. If you possess a strong mechanical background and want to join a professional and dedicated team, then this could be the job for you!
The role is based at our vehicle workshop at Freighter House. Responsibilities include preparing vehicles for annual testing, performing routine servicing and safety inspections, and carrying out breakdown repairs in accordance with DVSA and Operator Licence requirements. The role also involves MOT testing, roadside assistance, completing detailed service records, and contributing to the safe and clean operation of the workshop environment.
The successful applicant will possess an HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence along with City and Guilds Motor Vehicle Technology Parts 1, 2, and 3 (or equivalent). Applicants should be experienced in assessing and prioritising work to comply with deadlines as well as be confident working individually and as part of the team. Previous experience of working on HGVs is desirable but not essential as training will be provided as appropriate.
The post holder will be required to work 37 hours a week Monday to Friday. Flexibility is crucial within this role.

Family Worker - 14.24 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Domestic Abuse Hub as a Family Worker, specifically to support families who are affected by domestic abuse.
The Domestic Abuse Hub is a multi-agency team of Police, Education, Family Workers and Independent Domestic Violence Advocates. Between us, we respond to concerns relating to domestic abuse of all levels of risk. The Hub also coordinates the MARAC process.
About the Role:
As a Family Worker, you will provide support to families on a one-to-one basis, co-facilitate group work programmes and work with adults who have caused harm.&nbsp; You will be contacting survivors of domestic abuse and helping them to implement interventions to manage the risk and reduce the trauma for their children and themselves.
About the Candidate:
You will need to have a sound knowledge base in relation to understanding the complexities of domestic abuse and be prepared to work utilising a whole family approach. You will need have undertaken training or be prepared undertake level 2 domestic abuse training.

About the role:
The role of IDVA involves providing a pro-active service to all victim survivors of domestic abuse who have been assessed as high-risk of further harm.
The role including assessing risk and delivering an individualised service which aims to address the safety needs of victim survivors and any children and/or dependents.
The IDVA will advocate on behalf of the victim survivor, ensuring that they remain at the centre of all that we do, providing advice and support from the point of crisis and referring on to relevant agencies once the risk has reduced.
The IDVA aims to support clients to improve their safety, to support their recovery and to achieve long term safety and reduce repeat victimisation.
The IDVA will advocate on behalf of the victim / survivor with multiple agencies ensuring their risk is central to support safety planning.
As an IDVA you will be:
<ul>
<li>working with victims at high risk of serious harm through domestic abuse, supporting them to keep themselves safe, understand their rights and options and support them through the Criminal Justice process.</li>
<li>completing risk assessments and safety plans</li>
<li>working with partner agencies to develop multi-agency plans to support victims effectively</li>

You will need:
<ul>
<li>a good understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse</li>
<li>preferably experience of working with victims</li>
<li>an IDVA accreditation or willingness to work towards one</li>
<li>excellent communication skills as well as empathy</li>

As an 'Community Based Worker' position, the role will involve a combination of remote, community and office based working. There will be an expectation for you to attend the office based at County Hall, Chelmsford approximately 1-2 days per week in addition to 'as and when' there is a business need. The Role:Trading Standards is responsible for supporting legitimate business activity by providing advice and support, encouraging economic development and prosperity and helping to create a level playing field. We protect the economic interests of Essex residents (particularly the more vulnerable members of community) by using all the tools available to swiftly and effectively tackle rogue traders and businesses that cause the most consumer detriment. We adopt an intelligence led approach to enforcing a broad range of Trading Standards legislation including fair trading, underage sales, food and product safety, animal health and welfare to name just a few.The Trading Standards Project Officer - Tobacco and Vapes role will focus on the enforcement of rules regulating vapes and tobacco, including the supply of illegal/illicit products and tackling age restricted sales to children. The role will provide information, advice, and assistance on Trading Standards law to businesses based in Essex. The role includes undertaking visits alone to inspect businesses for compliance, providing guidance and support, and when necessary, gathering of evidence and compiling prosecution reports.The role contributes to the achievement of service and community objectives including, the reduction of crime and disorder; reducing anti-social behaviour; improving health and wellbeing; and promoting a fair trading environment throughout the County of Essex, by enforcing civil and criminal Trading Standards laws in an effective, efficient and impartial way.About You:You will have:<ul>
<li>Educated to RQF level 3 or equivalent by experience.</li>
<li>Evidence of continuing professional development and knowledge in relevant professional area.</li>
<li>Demonstrable knowledge of relevant Trading Standards legislation, enforcement procedures and protocols and experience of working in a regulatory or legal environment.</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills with a range of internal and external stakeholders including colleagues, managers, elected members, partners, and business representatives.</li>
<li>Good attention to detail and the ability to keep accurate, concise, and legally admissible records and notes.</li>
<li>Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and ability to use bespoke Trading Standards databases e.g., Intelligence Database (IDB) and Civica APP/Cx trader database and livestock movement and enforcement databases.</li>
<li>Previous experience of working in an enforcement type role will be highly desirable.</li>
</ul>Essential Requirements for the role:<ul><li>This role requires the postholder to be mobile throughout a wide operational area including travelling around the county of Essex and beyond. Driving licence and a vehicle, or ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means, is essential.</li></ul>What will you be doing?<ul>
<li>Conduct investigations and other enforcement activities; including gathering evidence, seizure of illegal/illicit goods, PACE interviews and preparing notes, statements, and prosecution reports on the more serious infringements in line with the Trading Standards Investigation Protocol and when necessary, giving evidence in court.</li>
<li>Work collaboratively with other enforcement agencies (such as the Police, HMRC, UKBF), District Councils, Parish Councils, and politicians, and representing the Council at external meetings such as Alcohol Licensing Reviews.</li>
<li>Enforcement of rules regulating vapes and tobacco, including the supply of illegal/illicit products and tackling age restricted sales to children. Train and support staff at various levels including trainees and other Trading Standards Officers. Maintain own competency and keep abreast of latest changes and developments in subject area.</li>
<li>Carry out unaccompanied visits to businesses in order to ensure compliance with legislation, provide advice and guidance and using autonomy to decide on the most appropriate remedy for non-compliances at the time of visit.</li>
<li>Provide consultancy services quotations, customer relationships management and manage agreed sums of petty cash and p-card transactions to ensure ECC financial policies are complied with, all spend is auditable and income generating opportunities are maximized.</li>
<li>Consult with members of the public and complainants to gather intelligence and provide updates on progress made with enquiries and complaints.</li>
<li>Carry out a range of enforcement activities as part of a team (e.g., 'test purchasing' operations of age restricted products), to ensure that businesses are following current trading standards legislation and best practice and recommending appropriate action where required.</li>
<li>Collate and accurately record work undertaken and prepare accurate and concise guidance letters to businesses and consumers/local residents to ensure guidance comply with trading standards legislation.</li>
<li>Assist in the development, planning and delivery of enforcement projects, and take an active role in managing projects where appropriate to ensure project goals are met and that outcomes align with the initial objectives.</li>
<li>Specific individual and shared targets and objectives are defined annually within the performance management framework.</li>
