Youth Offending Service Team Leader
About the Role:
As Team Leader, you will be part of a multi-agency service committed to early intervention, restorative practice, and contextual safeguarding under the Harm Outside the Home umbrella. This role provides operational leadership and supervision to Youth Justice practitioners, oversees risk and vulnerability management, safeguarding, and public protection. You will ensure compliance with Youth Justice Board standards and HMIP inspection frameworks.
About the Candidate:
The successful candidate will be a qualified professional with substantial experience in youth justice, safeguarding, and multi-agency working. You should have proven leadership and management skills with a strong understanding of criminal justice and childcare legislation. Personal Advisor Leaving Care - 12 month fixed term contract
About the Role:
Wirral Leaving Care Service is looking for a dynamic individual who is genuinely passionate about the welfare of our Care Leavers aged 16 - 25; and who will go the extra mile to ensure our young people are safe and achieve their full potential, in all respects.
About the Candidate:
Applicants should have experience of working with the 16 - 25 age group and have a relevant qualification at A-Level or higher. This is an exciting period when Personal Advisors will continue to work with their own individual caseload of young people aged 16 to 25; but also develop, support, participate in and lead project work with groups of young people and other professionals.
Wirral Leaving Care Service was the subject of an Ofsted focused visit in 2024 and has made considerable progress. We are determined to continue to make further progress and improve the support we offer to our young people.
We have a dedicated Hub building for our Care Leavers in central Birkenhead, 'Our Space' / N0 19, which has become the focus and location for much of our new developments, services, and our Leaving Care community.

<li>We work with children who are at risk of offending or who have already offended to reduce the chances they will offend again and support them achieve their full potential.</li>
<li>In your role, you will have to write an assessment of the child and co-produce and intervention plan with them. All your work with the child has to be timely recorded.&nbsp;There is a lot of case management and record keeping is an essential part of our job.</li>
<li>We have a duty to safeguard our children whilst also protecting the public: safety assessments, safety management and safeguarding and welfare of the children we work with is an essential aspect of our role.</li>
<li>We work in a multi-agency team and context: we support children as part of a network so you must be good communicating with others to overcome barriers and achieve better outcomes for our children.</li>
<li>Our role involves adherence to many pieces of legislation, frameworks, and guidance which you will have to learn and become familiar with to be able to deliver your role.</li>

Candidate Requirements
<ul>
<li>There is an essential requirement for this role to have a&nbsp;qualification in Social Work, Probation Services or Professional Certificate in Effective Practice (PCEP). Consideration for candidates without qualification will only be on the basis of them being currently employed as a youth justice worker in another service and to have held that post for a minimum of 6 months. For this particular role, candidates with a Teaching Qualification will also be considered, as well as anyone who has current experience of working with children in schools.&nbsp; Candidates that do not meet this essential requirement will not be shortlisted.&nbsp;</li>
<li>You are knowledgable about the Child First framework, trauma informed approaches. It is also desireable that you have knowledge of relevant criminal youth justice legislation, National Standards for Children in Youth Justice and Youth Justice Board best practice guidance.&nbsp;</li>
<li>You are familiar with Restorative Justice and the support that victims of crime need.</li>
<li>You can relate and engage with children and families, who have often experienced trauma.</li>
<li>You have experience of working with partners to improve outcomes for children.</li>
<li>You are able to write in an analytical and critical way, interpreting and analysing facts to produce reports and assessments for different audiences.</li>
<li>You will need to work to tight deadlines, in a fast paced, varied and rapidly changing environment and keep accurate and timely records.</li>
<li>You will be dynamic, adaptable, resilient and responsive to change to legislation and guidance, the various aspects of your role and children's circumstances.</li>
<li>You will have the experience of and ability to processing significant amount of written information (i.e. legislation, frameworks).</li>

An exciting opportunity has arisen as we are looking to recruit Outdoor Activity Development Coaches to add to our pool of Instructors. CLAC now has a 78-hectare marine lake, a health and fitness suite, two fitness studios, meeting rooms and a newly opened Bunk Barn which can accommodate 40 guests. As well as being next door to the recently opened Lake House hotel and bistro, this facility is one of Sefton’s primary assets situated in the stunning Crosby Coastal Park area of Sefton, Merseyside.
As a member of the coaching team, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality sessions and courses, and the facilitation of our Pay &amp; Play hire. We are looking for enthusiastic instructors/coaches, who are passionate about the benefits of the outdoor experience and can deliver safe and fun sessions. In addition to activity delivery, you will be required to assist in the general running of a busy leisure and outdoor activity Centre eg equipment storage and maintenance.&nbsp;
Our current activities include canoeing, kayaking, sailing, raft building, bell boating, team building and archery and more are in the pipeline.
