About the roleWe are currently seeking a passionate and highly motivated Active Communities Officer to join our busy NN Leisure Active Communities Team. As the post holder you will be developing and managing opportunities across North Northamptonshire for residents to be more active and move more, across all ages and abilities.You will be supporting with the delivery of the NNC Active Communities Strategy and programmes to encourage more North Northamptonshire residents to participate in physical activity, make positive lifestyle changes and create regular long-term participation to improve their health, mental and physical wellbeing.What will you be doing?Workstreams will include school term time and holiday programmes, sport and activity sessions, events, club development programmes, coaching and leadership schemes, and marketing and monitoring for these programmes. You will work alongside many different partners and foster strong relationships to achieve this, for example with Northamptonshire Sport, NGB’s, Local Clubs, Schools, Community Safety, Police, voluntary sector groups, local companies, diverse community groups etc.You will ensure that all sessions and programmes comply with health and safety standards and that Safeguarding policies and procedures are robust and adhered to as the safety of all participants and staff will be paramount.About youIn order to be considered for this role you'll have experience of organising and delivering sport and play sessions, hold a Level 4 or equivalent in Sport, Play or Health and at least hold one level 2 NGB coaching/instructing qualification. You will have an outgoing personality, be a team player and be able to work flexible hours as required for the needs of the business (e.g. ad hoc - early mornings, evenings, school holidays and occasional weekends for events) The Council operates a flexitime scheme and can offer a hybrid approach to working as the postholder will be able to work remotely for part of the working week around delivery and set office based days. About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, resilient and motivated Pastoral Support Worker to join our pastoral team at Wings School Notts. Working under the direction of the Pastoral Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing, engagement and personal development of children and young people with SEMH and ASC needs.
This role is central to ensuring students feel safe, understood and supported both in school and, where appropriate, beyond the school environment. You will work directly with students who may struggle with attendance, behaviour, emotional regulation or engagement with learning, delivering targeted pastoral support that helps them re-engage and thrive. You will also work closely with families, including undertaking home visits and supporting flexible and personalised learning arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
Student Support
<ul>
<li>Provide direct pastoral support to students on a one-to-one and small group basis, using trauma-informed, restorative and relational approaches.</li><li>Support students with emotional regulation, social skills, behaviour and wellbeing, helping them to access learning successfully.</li><li>Build positive, trusting relationships with students, acting as a consistent and safe adult within the school.</li><li>Support students on flexible learning plans, including reintegration programmes, part-time timetables or alternative learning arrangements.</li><li>Assist students during periods of transition, crisis or heightened emotional need, using de-escalation strategies and positive behaviour support.</li></ul>
Attendance, Engagement and Behaviour
<ul>
<li>Support the monitoring and improvement of attendance, punctuality and engagement.</li><li>Work proactively with students who are persistently absent or at risk of disengagement, identifying barriers and supporting re-engagement.</li><li>Contribute to personalised support plans and behaviour interventions under the guidance of the Pastoral Manager.</li></ul>
Working with Families

<li>Build strong, respectful and trusting relationships with parents and carers.</li><li>Maintain regular communication with families to share progress, concerns and strategies for supporting students.</li><li>Undertake home visits (where appropriate) to support attendance, wellbeing, engagement and safeguarding.</li><li>Act as a supportive link between home and school, ensuring families feel heard, valued and informed.</li></ul>

The Derbyshire Independent Advocacy service is an in-house advocacy service available to vulnerable children and young people from 0-25 (if they have SEND) across Derbyshire. The role focuses on supporting individual children and young people to have their say about issues that are important to them, share their views and ensure that they can be an active part of planning and meetings. We work with children and young people in care and care experienced young people, children and young people with SEND and social, emotional and mental health challenges. We need advocates who are independent from the local authority, willing to travel and work at times that are accessible to children and young people. The project will deliver a varied activity programme across North Northamptonshire that meet the needs of families on their doorstep, ensuring that residents of all ages have the opportunity to try new activities and sports, move more and live healthier lifestyles. The post is a part time role at 20 hours per week.As part of the NN Leisure - Active Families team, we can offer you further training in Health and Safety, Equality, First Aid, Safeguarding and other NGB qualifications as required. What will you be doing?Working as part of the NN Leisure Active Families Team, you will be delivering a range of fun and engaging sport and activity programmes for families and residents in North Northamptonshire. The programme with deliver a variety of different sports, exercise and play activities for which you will either be the lead coach/instructor or be the support for other team members. There will also be a requirement to delivery and support the management of the annual large scale Active Families Fundays events, which are held during the summer months. You will also have the opportunity to assist the Active Communities Team with the delivery of Sportsleaders courses and other training development sessions, supporting community learners and volunteers. Candidates will also be required to support with admin and the development of evaluation reports for the Active Families project. About youThe successful candidates will already hold at least one qualification in any play, sport or exercise based learning at Level 2 or above (i.e. Play leader, NGB, ETM, Personal Instructor etc). Applicants must also have experience of coaching/instructing and delivering sessions to a variety of age groups and have adapted sessions for all abilities.
