Who are we?
Hawley Woods School provides a specialist environment and support primarily for autistic children and those needing a similarly adapted approach with small classes of 6-8 pupils within our calm, nurturing setting. Our school caters for children from the age of 7 up to 16 years (Key Stages 2, 3 and 4).

Our&nbsp;Voluntary Pantry Delivery Driver&nbsp;will safely drive between food collection points and St Giles Pantry sites across London, loading the vehicle with food in line with food safety and manual handling regulations.&nbsp; You will ensure your vehicle is checked for safety and cleanliness before each shift, report any incidents with management and calmly react to changing scenarios, such as traffic, while always being polite and courteous to other volunteers who may be accompanying deliveries.&nbsp;&nbsp;
On the road, and at the Pantries, you will be representing St Giles and so you will drive safely, responsibly and within the law and be courteous to all road users, staff, volunteers and members. &nbsp;At all times you will ensure that you are following St Giles’ health and safety policy and food safety standards protocols to consistently ensure safe collection and delivery of food is maintained.
What we are looking for

<li>A full and valid driving licence (due to insurance requirements, this role is only open to applicants of 25 years of age or older)</li>
<li>You must be physically fit to be able to manually load heavy items into a van</li>
<li>Experience of working in a similar van delivery role, preferably in food distribution and use of chilled vehicles</li>
<li>Food safety and hygiene qualification or willingness to work towards one</li>

As a Social Worker in the Advice and Wellbeing Hub, you will be the first point of contact for adults, carers, and professionals seeking advice and support. You’ll provide strengths-based assessments, offer guidance on available services, and ensure people receive the right interventions to promote independence and wellbeing. The Advice and Wellbeing Hub is a busy, supportive and friendly team, working with people of all ages and backgrounds and their families and carers. We use a Conversations Count strengths-based model to promote choice and control and achieve excellent outcomes. You will work with individuals who have been referred for support for up to 6 weeks, to maximise their independence in their own homes. Promoting choice and control and using a strength-based approach. About the Role: The role involves you undertaking work using the Conversation Counts model, working on prevention and early support. Using your social work expertise, you will conduct Care Act assessments, safeguarding investigations, and Mental Capacity assessments, as well as facilitate best interest meetings. You will also manage a varied caseload, ensuring individuals receive the right support to maintain their independence. This role involves working with adults with diverse needs, including individuals with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, older adults, and those affected by substance or alcohol misuse. Additionally, you will provide information, advice, and support to carers, helping them navigate available resources and services. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and experience in Adult Social Care, delivering high-quality, person-centred interventions to individuals in their own homes. You will be part of a friendly and supportive team committed to making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. We offer a flexible working environment with a mixture of home working and access to an office based in the centre of Reading. You will work within the legal framework provided by the statute, guidance, policies and procedures. We offer excellent support, supervision and induction. You will need to have:

<li>A degree or equivalent in Social Work</li>
<li>Registration with Social work England</li>
<li>Understanding of the Care Act 2014</li>
</ul>
