Dudley Council is seeking a motivated and compassionate Skills Development Coordinator to play a leading role in supporting refugees across the borough to access employment, training and education opportunities. About the Role
As Skills Development Coordinator, you will lead on employability initiatives within the Resettlement & Inclusion Team, working directly with refugees to assess skills, qualifications and career ambitions, and develop tailored action plans that improve employment outcomes
You will build strong partnerships with employers, training providers, education agencies, the Department for Work and Pensions, Jobcentre Plus and other key stakeholders to create pathways into work and learning. You will also deliver employability workshops, provide advice and advocacy, coordinate qualification recognition and monitor progress through effective case management and performance reporting.

We are looking for an individual who:
- Has experience of working with vulnerable people and supporting positive outcomes.
- Has a track record of developing effective partnerships and collaborative working relationships.
- Can motivate and support individuals to achieve employment and training goals.
- Has experience of performance monitoring, reporting and working towards targets.
- Demonstrates excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Understands the challenges facing refugees, asylum seekers and other vulnerable groups.
- Is committed to equality, diversity, inclusion and community cohesion
Essential Requirements
You will have:
- A-level qualifications (or equivalent), including GCSE English and Mathematics.
- Experience of partnership working and managing relationships with external organisations.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and maintain accurate records.
- An understanding of refugee resettlement, immigration and homelessness-related issues.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development.

Additional Information
- Enhanced DBS clearance is required for this post.
- The role involves travel across the borough and applicants must be able to make efficient travel arrangements.
