About us Independence at Home provides a personal approach to helping individuals who find themselves unable to manage day-to-day tasks at home. The Mental Health team would like to offer Approved Mental Health Professionals the opportunity to support the Isle of Wight AMHP Service through our casual bank list. We are looking for Approved Mental Health Professionals who are approved by a Local Authority, or willing to work to be approved by the Isle of Wight Council, to cover the function of executing Mental Health Act Assessments in a variety of settings.
This post is zero-hours and would suit AMHPs who work for another Authority but would like some experience working on an island, or for AMHPs that have not practiced for a while but would be willing to undertake the training to become approved by the Isle of Wight Council.
The ethos of the post is to cover AMHP shifts in case of vacancies or sickness as part of the 24-hour on-call rota, including evening and weekend hours and bank holidays.
We will provide you with an induction to the systems used and resources of the island before you will be expected to work on your own, in addition to support from the AMHP manager to discuss any areas of practice concerns.

These needs may include adults with Learning Disability; adults with Dementia; younger adults with complex and or behavioural needs.&nbsp;&nbsp;

For Carers it provides a flexible, interesting role with a fantastic work life balance, free training, working as a self-employed professional with support from the West Northants Shared Lives scheme.

<h2>Additional information</h2>All kinds of people can become Shared Lives carers- you don’t need to have any specific experience or training in care already, you will just have a genuine passion for caring for and supporting people. You may be a couple or single, with or without children, a home owner or a tenant. You will need to be over 18 and have a spare bedroom in your home.

Please note, this role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate, and children and adults barred list check.

<h2>About the role</h2>You will join a team of committed, &nbsp;friendly staff providing high level of support for adults (mainly older people) with Dementia using a re-abling approach with the aim of maximizing independence and wellbeing for individuals.Ireland Lodge is situated in a residential area and has free parking facilities if you choose to work here. &nbsp;&nbsp;We are looking for someone who:<ul>

Knowsley Shared Lives Scheme, which is part of Knowsley Council, is currently recruiting Shared Lives Carers.&nbsp; Could you welcome a person with a care or support need in to your own home?&nbsp;
This may suit you if you are looking for a rewarding challenge with a payment of between £500 - £600 per week and you wish to work from home.&nbsp;
One of the services the scheme provides is long term support where someone would live with you as part of your family - you would need to live within the Knowsley Boundary to provide this type of support.&nbsp;
The scheme also provides respite, where someone would stay with you from one night up to 3 months and there is no requirement to live in Knowsley to provide this service.&nbsp; You will receive full training for your role and support from a team of Shared Lives Workers. The scheme will match you with someone who they feel you could support, who may have similar interest’s likes and preferences to yourself.&nbsp; Experience of providing care would be desired but it is not essential.&nbsp;&nbsp;
All applicants will undertake an assessment which will include character employer and GP references, a Disclosure and Barring Service Check and a health and safety check on your property. Your assessment will be approved by an independent panel.&nbsp;
