Residential Childrens Worker at The OutbackAbout the roleThe requirements of the role of an RCW within The Outback are varied and a summary of some of the typical tasks and duties of the post are included below. The service currently covers a vast area, working across the whole of Derbyshire. Much of the work of The Outback is undertaken in the family homes of the children, their schools or local communities. Therefore, it is essential that applicants are confident to travel around the county and are also able to transport young people as required.Edge of Care/Preventing Family Breakdown – These are bespoke support packages which are agreed with allocated social workers in order to support specific targets that are identified through safeguarding plans or legal processes. The worker will work with the children and family carers, offering support and advice to achieve the identified targets. This could include the development of Positive Behaviour Support, supporting parenting skills, bedtime routines, developing communication systems, family relationships, developing interaction through play and leisure activities. Other work may include supporting introductions/transitions to other resources and services. Working with young people to offer support at The Outback or in the local community - This can include 1:1 or 2:1 work with young people with complex needs, this will often be with young people who present high levels of challenging or distressed behaviour.To support residential settings across the county as and when required. About the role…
As a MiCare Support Worker you:

<li>Provide support to adults to develop and maintain activities of daily living, including personal care.</li>
<li>Support people to undertake a range of social care tasks such as washing, dressing/undressing, showering, and bathing, meal preparation, domestic activities and engaging in community activities.</li>
<li>Undertake a range of delegated health care tasks as required such as prompt prescribed medication, supporting the application of prescribed creams, eye and ear drops, catheter care and prompting exercise as prescribed by the physiotherapist.</li>
</ul>
As this is a community based role, it is essential that you have a full UK driving license and access to a car to enable you to travel around Rutland county.
Basic pay of £12.85 - £13.05 per hour, Saturdays at £19.28 - £19.59 per hour, Sundays and bank holidays at £25.70 - £26.11 per hour.&nbsp;

Join us and contribute to making a positive impact on our community.The RoleCommunity Meals is a hot meals service provided by North Somerset Council to people within North Somerset who have difficulty in preparing and cooking hot meals. We are looking to employ a flexible driver who are as passionate about our service as we. Community Meals drivers are more than a delivery person, they are in some instances the only contact our clients have with another person during their day. As part of the delivery service you will complete a welfare check, for example ensuring that the person is warm during winter months, or has sufficient drinks in warmer weather, reporting any concerns to the Business Support Team. We deliver our service for 363 days of the year, which includes weekends and Bank Holidays, pausing on Christmas Day and New Years Day. We currently have 2 kitchens, so you may drive from our Castlewood Kitchen based in Clevedon, or our Weston kitchen based in Worle Where a Council vehicle is used, to undertake vehicle safety checks and routines, reporting incidents as required in accordance with North Somerset operational policies.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>To ensure daily work instructions are acknowledged and both planning and preparations for operational deployment are undertaken.</li><li>To effectively deliver community meals services to our clients in accordance with a journey plan, timetable and/or a delivery manifest, in a timely manner and with a person focused approach.</li><li>To undertake client welfare checks at each visit in line with agreed protocols and instructions on the schedule/plan, reporting any incidents and communicating any variances in accordance with council policy.</li><li>Where a Council vehicle is used, to position, collect and return the vehicle from multi point locations.</li><li>To maintain a current, valid driving licence (minimum of a Category B) and submit this routinely for review.</li></ul>This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
