<h2>About the team / role</h2>
The Committee Services team has a vacancy for a Committee Co-ordinator to clerk meetings of the Mayor of London’s two Development Corporations, the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) and the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC), and to provide high level governance and clerking support to other bodies across the GLA, as required.
The role includes supporting OPDC planning committee meetings, which meet in the early evenings - approximately 20 meetings a year. In return for this work, you will be entitled to time off during normal working hours.
You will need a track record of success in managing formal committee or board meetings; excellent communication and writing skills; and great organisational skills, including the ability to consistently meet deadlines in a pressurised environment.
You will be working in the Committee Services team at City Hall which provides a shared service of clerking and governance support across the GLA Group to the Mayor of London, Transport for London, Mayoral Development Corporations and London Assembly. It is a dynamic working environment and a great development opportunity.
What your day will look like
<ul>
<li>Preparing reports, agendas and minutes for formal committee / board meetings.</li>
<li>Liaising with stakeholder teams about upcoming meetings and deadlines.</li>
<li>Ensuring meetings are supported efficiently in line with the Authority’s governance frameworks and the Committee Services team’s Quality Management System.</li>
<li>Provision of governance and procedural meeting advice to senior officers and members.</li>
</ul>
Skills, knowledge and experience
To be considered for the role you must meet the following essential criteria:
<ul>
<li>Experience of delivering governance and administrative support service to senior staff in a high-profile organisation.</li>
<li>A track record of success in managing formal committee and/or board meetings.</li>
<li>A high level of competence in the operation of standard office information and communications technology applications.</li>
<li>The ability to support evening meetings as required (normally twice a month).</li>
</ul>
This is a politically restricted role under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.

Social Care Officer £37,068 - £38,058 per annum About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a newly created Social Care Officer post within the Mental Health Adult Social Care Access Team (MHASCAT). MHASCAT is the front door service for all new referrals into mental health social services which sits within the Primary Care Networks (PCN) space in conjunction with our health colleagues. We are looking for a Social Care Officer who wants to develop their skills with case work under the Care Act 2014, undertaking assessments of need, completing support plans and working with residents and carers to maximize independence and improve well-being, ascertaining the level of need and signposting as appropriate. Other duties include but are not limited to, daily screening of all new referrals that come through our Duty system. This includes referrals from health (including GP’s and hospitals), other teams within LBN such as Children’s Services and housing, out of borough cases that may require thorough background research, and self-referrals from residents and their carers and families. You will also take phone calls from the general public, giving advice to residents and families about what support is available to them within LBN social services as well as have knowledge of charities and other partner organisations within Newham. As a Social Care Officer, you will need to be able to make judgement calls with your line manager on the appropriateness of the referral, the type of support that you feel the resident requires, and signpost accordingly. Most of the role will be over the telephone and virtually, however you may be asked to undertake emergency home visits if and when required.
