Guildford Borough Council provides through its DLO services to tenants and leaseholders, together with delivering an out of hours service to residents and dealing with issues within the borough that require emergency support.
We have created this two-year fixed term contract to provide support to the Operational Lead for the DLO who is responsible for the overall delivery of all services. This role will focus in particular on the range of minor works capital projects that the DLO are now starting to deliver, together with taking the lead role for the organisation and management of quotations for works either delivered directly by the DLO or by its supply chain, to ensure value for money and a clear audit trail, which can be evidenced through quality assurance measures.
This is an exciting and challenging role that will assist and inform the DLO in its modernisation process. The role will support the Operational Lead and will also work closely with the Head of Repairs and is linked to the wider transformation process that is being undertaken across Housing Services.

This role sits within the User Centred Design team, with a current focus on the Data for London programme.
The UCD team brings together specialisms including digital engagement, service design, user research, business analysis, digital performance analysis, content design and interaction design. These specialisms work in harmony with a shared mission to make all products and services as inclusive, accessible and user centric as possible.
The Mayor of London’s Data for London Board has been established to improve the flow and usage of data to serve citizens, solve city challenges, and promote productivity - putting data into the hands of those who can make a positive difference for London. The Board brings together data leaders from across public, private and civil society and includes expertise in the fields of data science, data ethics, smart cities, cyber security, public engagement and data journalism.
 Inside the GLA, the Data for London team are working to ‘fix the plumbing’ for the data ecosystem in London. This includes delivering a rebuild of the London Datastore <a href="https://data.london.gov.uk/" target="_blank">https://data.london.gov.uk/</a>, which serves 2m users and contains 18,000 data files. As we work towards that, the team have released the first component of new data infrastructure for London: the Data for London Library.
 The Data for London Library allows users to search city data, all in one place. We will harvest metadata from many more organisations across London than the current DataStore and put it all in one searchable Library, allowing data analysts to find new datasets or possible collaborators to solve their problem.
 The next phase of the Data for London programme will focus on designing products that make data sharing and access management easier, to make it simpler for people to share and use data held across London to improve the city and benefit Londoners.
<h2>About the role</h2>
The Interaction Designer, as a senior practitioner, will lead on the design and prototyping of user interfaces that align with user needs and business requirements, creating engaging and intuitive user experiences for digital products. Your work will ensure internal and external users can complete their goals and that our digital services support the delivery of GLA policy intent.
 This may involve creating prototypes for new, or improved internal and external digital products, and content across digital channels managed by the Digital Experience Unit or other business units within the GLA or GLA group.
 You will be supporting the Data for London team to design products that make it simpler for people to share and use data held across London to improve the city and benefit Londoners. You will need to research and design for a wide range of stakeholders and capabilities, bringing structure to a complex system.

About the role:
Horsham District Council is looking for a Developer Analyst to join its Customer and Digital Services team, supporting the technology requirements across the Council providing a technical, professional and customer focused service. The role will suit someone who has a background in application development and support, and analytical skills.
As a Developer Analyst you will work with colleagues to deliver digital solutions on our chosen platforms. This will include the design and build of business processes and online forms to deliver a consistent and excellent user experience, the support and maintenance of existing in-house and third-party systems and the implementation of integrations between applications, along with general database administration. You will also advise colleagues on how processes can be optimised using digital technology and assist in the migration of systems to new solutions, working closely with external suppliers.
About you:
To succeed as Developer Analyst, you will have the skills to deliver a range of dynamic solutions, and the drive to investigate and resolve technical challenges. You will have held a similar Developer Analyst or Application Support role, dealing with a broad range of business applications, online forms development and integrating systems using APIs and SFTP.&nbsp;&nbsp;You will have experience of database administration (ideally SQL Server) and an understanding of cloud-based infrastructure and applications, including Software as a Service. Your role will be to deliver regulatory services in relation to Licensing. Experience in animal activity licensing would be welcomed, but not essential.
This is also an exciting time for Guildford Borough Council as we continue our collaboration journey with Waverley Borough Council. Both Councils have a shared senior leadership team with plans for a single Regulatory Services function to be in place by early 2026. Guildford Borough Council’s Regulatory Services staff will then be employed by Waverley Borough Council.

On a typical day, you would:

<li>Determining licensing applications and inspecting premises.</li>
<li>Responding to licensing related service requests, providing advice and investigating allegations of breaches of licensing conditions.</li>

<li>Contribute to the development of licensing related policies and procedures.</li>

Brent EPs work to a flexible model of service delivery that is rooted in consultation and the use of a wide range of tools and techniques to support our children, young people, schools, and parent/carers. We are passionate about providing every EP with a varied and stimulating range of work that makes best use of the unique skills and insights that our profession has to offer. &nbsp;
Our aim is to serve the needs of the most vulnerable children in our borough, as well as using our skills to address issues that concern larger numbers of CYP. &nbsp;We do this by targeting key issues through project work and the delivery of high-quality training to our colleagues in Brent schools and settings. &nbsp; Working with senior EPs, our dynamic team of Assistant EPs have devised and delivered a highly regarded programme of in-service training, making full use of technology, to reach as wide an audience as possible. &nbsp;We are proud of the fact that over 100 ELSAs have now been trained and are present in 60% of Brent schools; our annual ELSA conference has become the most attended education conference in the LA. &nbsp;
Our EBSA project created a Practice Framework for schools. &nbsp;Last year, the EPS set up and now leads on a multi-agency panel that makes decisions about support for children who are unable to attend school on mental health grounds. &nbsp;There is an ongoing programme of training for EBSA and other key topics, including Precision Teaching, ADHD in the Classroom and Literacy Support. &nbsp;There is dedicated EP support to our colleagues in the Brent Virtual School.&nbsp;
We work in collaboration with colleagues in the wider Inclusion Service, where the EPS sits and has a key leadership function. &nbsp; Across the service, there is a renewed commitment to develop our anti-racist and culturally sensitive practice. &nbsp;Serving a truly diverse population is one of the most rewarding elements of being an EP in Brent; we are committed to ensuring that our team reflects this diversity.
