Job Purpose
To undertake cleaning duties to maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the school, as directed.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
Undertake cleaning of allocated areas in line with specified standards and as directed Operate / use domestic and industrial cleaning equipment and materials, following appropriate training Store allocated equipment and materials safely and securely Perform duties in line with health and safety regulations (COSHH) and take action where hazards are identified, report serious hazards to line manager immediately Collect and dispose of waste Refill and replace soap, towels and other materials Undertake specialised cleaning programmes during school closures or other designated periods Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the academy, raising any concerns following academy protocol/procedures Any other duties appropriate to the post.

Required from 8 December 2025
Pensby High School are seeking to appoint a Cleaner to join our team of cleaning staff.
Hours of work: 7:00 - 8:30am and 3:30 to 5:12pm (16 hours per week) Monday to Friday.&nbsp;
The successful candidate will be reliable, hard working with the ability to prioritise tasks as the role will involve some lone working.&nbsp; They will also need to be organised, physically fit and flexible in their approach to a wide range of duties.

Applicants for this post must be willing to undergo child protection screening, including reference checks with previous employers and an enhanced criminal record check.
