Enfield Youth Development Service is located within the Children and Families division part of the Youth People and Community Safety Department and well placed to support young people with additional needs, including ‘children in need’, those on a child plan of protection, children looked after and young people engaging in risky behaviour. This is a part time position (18 hours per week), with a pro-rata salary range of £14,335 - £15,481 per annum. 
Youth Development service works with young people age 11-19, (and up to 25 with young people with disabilities and learning difficulties). The key aim of youth work is to provide personal and social development opportunities to children and young people to help them to transition to adulthood and achieve the best outcomes, whilst promoting good citizenship. 
As part of the contextual safeguarding approach, you will use a variety of youth work methods to positively engage young people such as detached and outreach youth work, mentoring, advocacy, provision of information, advice and guidance, one to one work, group work and project work. You will be part of contextual safeguarding youth work team, line managed by Youth Service and directed in its work by the Contextual Safeguarding Hub to target identified hot spots and young people at risk. Our ambition is that through a provision of contextual safeguarding youth work approach, we will reduce young people’s risk to extra familial abuse outside of home whilst strengthening their resilience and ability to make informed and safe life choices. 
You will work with young people in a wide range of settings such as streets, local parks, communities, neighbourhoods, schools and will use a variety of youth work methods to positively engage young people. You will be required to undertake evening and weekend work in accordance with service requirements. 
You will be required to engage identified young people through establishing a relationship of trust in one to one support, group work, projects and activities that promote learning, personal and social development and above all enable young people to make informed choices to stay safe in contexts outside of their family and home. 
You will deliver specific and bespoke interventions tailored to young people’s needs and abilities in a variety of settings to reduce young people’s engagement in risky behaviour and risk of harm in response to the themes/needs identified by Contextual Safeguarding Hub. 
As part of your role you will be required to share information and work collaboratively with key professional agencies involved in contextual safeguarding such as social workers, Police, schools/PRUs/Colleges, youth offending service, community safety, health, housing and others. Support and challenge young people’s attitudes and action towards issues such as unemployment, drugs, poverty, racism, sexism, disability, health, sexuality, criminality, peer, parental and community pressure.

Community Safety Reassurance Patrol Officer

Working as a member of the parking services team, the post holder will be a front-line operative for the council assisting members of the public with information, offering advice and guidance on parking restrictions. Ensuring correct use of both off-street and on-street parking spaces, in accordance with the relevant Parking Orders and Traffic Management Act 2004. Civil Enforcement Officers (CEO) will also be required to issue Penalty Charge Notices to vehicles parking in contravention of the parking regulations, which may incur some negative verbal interaction. Written reports will need to be completed by the post holder recording details of any incidents. On a daily basis CEO's will walk their allocated route, which could be up to 10/12 miles, assessing road signage and road lining for compliance purposes; informing their supervisor of any issues or concerns. CEO's must ensure all incidents are brought to the attention of the Supervisor immediately – providing written statements and reports. They may also need to attend court or adjudication panels when required, as well as to submit evidence when called upon. Medway Council's equipment procedures must be adhered to – ensuring that all equipment is given due care and protection, daily start of shift checks should be carried out for faults and damaged equipment to be immediately reported to the Supervisor. CEO's will be required to assist with the clearing of snow from Medway car park surfaces as directed, if the weather inhibits the issuing of Penalty Charge Notices.The post holder will work on a shift pattern basis to ensure that the parking service is operational 7 days per week, from 07:00am - 01:00am hours. Working hours will be permanent twilight shifts- 20 hours per week, between 9pm to 1am, covering Monday to Sunday (including bank holidays).A uniform is required to be worn for this role at all times. As a Senior Public Health Specialist, you will work within a team of highly motivated public health staff, supporting the Director of Public Health to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequalities in Hackney and the City of London. You will be expected to be able to work across all domains of public health as and when required to do so and with additional training and support if necessary.
As part of our’whole system’ approach to tackling obesity, this fixed term role will lead the co-development, implementation and evaluation of a pilot programme of work to build workforce and community capacity to promote healthy weight. This will involve:
- Strengthening healthy weight competence and confidence among frontline staff and volunteers who support individuals at high risk of obesity, in various service and community settings
- improving awareness of, and access to, information about actions individuals can take to achieve and maintain a healthy weight
- Developing and implementing a plan to address and reduce weight stigma across Hackney and the City.
While based within a central team, the responsibilities of the role will be delivered through collaboration with colleagues across the two local authorities, health and voluntary sector partners, as well as directly with communities.
You will be educated to degree level and have significant public health knowledge and skills, acquired through training, experience or formal study. You will have a knowledge of the causes of ill health and inequalities, combined with a knowledge of public health principles and methodologies.

You’ll follow RoSPA and Southwark Council procedures to stop traffic safely, give clear instructions, and keep an eye on site conditions, reporting any incidents or defective street furniture promptly. You’ll use the provided PPE correctly, conduct dynamic risk assessments, and work closely with the School and the School Crossing Patrol Manager to keep everyone safe.Training (including safeguarding and conflict management) is provided.Hours: 10 per week during term time, typically 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon (windows usually between 07:45–09:30 and 14:45–16:30). Job share considered where practical.Salary: £7,171 per annum, pro-rata pay for 10 hours/week over 45.06 weeks on a £29,808 salary based on a 36-hour full-time week.<h4>What We're Looking For</h4><ul><li>Calm, reliable people who enjoy helping others and can communicate clearly with both children and adults.</li><li>A good understanding of road safety and a strong focus on safeguarding children and vulnerable people (training provided).</li><li>Able to work independently, stay patient under pressure, and operate outdoors in all weather while standing for the shift and carrying the crossing sign.</li><li>Experience dealing with the public is helpful, but full training and uniform are provided</li></ul><h4>Additional Information</h4><ul><li>Schedule: Monday–Friday during term time; typically 1 hour a.m. and 1 hour p.m. (between approx. 07:45–09:30 and 14:45–16:30).</li><li>Contract: Permanent, term-time only.
