Independence Support Worker (Care Worker)

Job Description Job Title: Casual Trainer Salary: £15.16 per hour Grade: C Contract: Zero-hour Casual Contract on an As &amp; When Required Basis An exciting opportunity has arisen for Casual Trainers to work within the Caring for Thurrock Business Team supporting the Residential and Community teams by providing mandatory training courses for around 300 staff within the Services. The Services provide care support to vulnerable adults either within their own homes or within Residential settings. Casual Trainers will be required to deliver training on moving and handling, medication and safeguarding to new staff and to existing staff as refresher sessions.&nbsp; The role will be working as part of a team to ensure training is provided on a regular basis (weekly/monthly/annually) to all the teams/staff within Caring for Thurrock. We are looking for an individual who is interested in Chelmsford’s history, heritage&nbsp;and culture, in addition to having a love of marketing. The successful applicant will be assisting in major promotional campaigns for the museum that are focused on driving income and raising awareness of everything from the objects in our collections and galleries, temporary exhibitions and curator talks, kids’ activities to memberships. This means they’ll need to be able to manage working on multiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively to deadlines.
We’re looking for someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail. Getting involved in helping us with membership administrative tasks, updating copy on our web pages and online listings, and researching ideas for social media content. We are very data driven in our decision making, so the role will also involve maintaining spreadsheets and schedules.
The post holder will be helping to create posters, digital screen ads and social media posts to support our campaigns. This means we want applicants who have some experience in creating engaging and accessible artwork using design software such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
Also, working alongside others in our team in creating and editing video content that’s filmed on mobile and other devices. These will be used across our socials, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn, so will need to be able to demonstrate your experience in doing this.

Youth Support Worker in Charge

Location: Opportunities across districts in Hertfordshire. Please specify your preferred location at application stage. Salary: £13.26 - £13.96 per hour Hours: Opportunities for 5, 7.5 or 10 hours per week term-time; in the evenings. Contract: PermanentAre you passionate about helping young people develop the skills and confidence they need to get the best start in life?Are you energetic and creative with skills and knowledge to share?Our excellent training and ongoing support will turn your passion into expertise that can change lives.<h4>About the Team</h4>You will be in one of the 10 Services for Young People district teams and will have the opportunity to make a real difference to the prospects of young people.Working with young people locally aged 11 to 17 in groups of 12-25, many of whom face challenges in their home life, education or local community, you’ll help us deliver targeted prevention and early interventions, informal education opportunities and develop their skills. &nbsp;Supported by qualified and experienced staff, you will be a key member of our team supporting the delivery of a diverse range of curriculum programmes including independent living skills and emotional wellbeing, to supporting young people in staying away from crime, anti-social behaviour and offering guidance on relationships and sexual health.<h4>About the role</h4>Our sessions run for 2.5 hours and typically evenings Monday – Saturday during term time which depending on the weekly hours you can commit to could be the following:<ul><li>5 hours = 2 sessions a week</li><li>7.5 hours = 3 sessions a week</li><li>10 hours = 4 sessions a week</li></ul>We’re looking for people from a wide variety of backgrounds who have worked with Children and/or Young People in a voluntary or paid capacity.Additionally, we are keen to hear from those who have skills to share in areas such as sports, outdoor learning, art &amp; crafts, media, music, health as a tool to establish a relationship and engagement with our young people.If you’re passionate about working with young people, keen to learn, have good communication skills and are a team player, you’ll fit right in to our friendly, supportive and collaborative working environment.Whilst a driving license is not essential some of our locations can be a little challenging on public transport so a car and license would be preferrable. In return, amongst many benefits and training Hertfordshire can offer you, we will offer you opportunities to develop your youth work practice.<h4>About you</h4>Essential:<ul><li>Willingness and ability to work regular weekly evening sessions including Fridays.</li><li>Having worked or currently working in a role with children and/of Young People (paid or voluntary capacity)</li><li>Ability to develop professional relationships with young people and vulnerable young adults.</li><li>Good knowledge, interests, skills or training that would enable you to contribute to positive informal educational activities with young people and vulnerable young adults.</li><li>Understanding of the key issues which young people and vulnerable young adults face and the ability to identify their needs.</li><li>Experience of working as a member of a team and evidence of successful contributions you have made to a team's work.</li><li>Willingness and ability to complete the compulsory Certificate in Youth Work, a commitment to undertake ongoing professional development and to put what you learn into practice.</li><li>An understanding of equal opportunities and knowledge of how you would put that into practice.</li></ul>Desirable:<ul><li>Skills in areas such as sports, outdoor learning, art &amp; crafts, media, music, health</li><li>Full UK driving licence &amp; regular access to a vehicle.</li></ul>We welcome applications from candidates who currently reside in the UK with established proof of right to work documentation.
