A motivated LGV C driver is required to join our refuse/recycling collection team.This role will have a particular emphasis on the Councils curbside refuse and recycling collection services, responsible for:<ul><li>Refuse loaders</li><li>Vehicle defect reporting</li><li>Vehicle condition and cleanliness</li><li>Liaising with Supervisors and office staff</li><li>Route scheduling</li><li>Reporting of accidents and near misses </li></ul>To undertake collection of various types of waste and recycling from households, commercial properties and industrial properties utilising a number of collection methods including wheeled bins, bulk items and refuse sacks.To be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all allocated vehicles; complying with all applicable driving legislation and agreed practices. An LGV C driving license and a current driver qualification card are essential. The standard working week is 37 hours, worked Monday to Friday, with a start time of 6:00am. The Refuse Collection Service operates on a task and finish basis, meaning that once an allocated round is completed, crews may be required to support other rounds to ensure the overall service is delivered effectively. To accommodate the task and finish nature of the service, there is no fixed daily finishing time. Working time includes the completion of daily vehicle safety checks, carrying out allocated collections and deliveries, and the weekly cleaning of the vehicle. A two-week reference period will be used to calculate working time. No reductions in pay will be made where the allocated work is completed in less than 74 hours working time in a two-week cycle. Overtime payments will only be made where 74 hours working time is exceeded in a two- week cycle. Overtime pay will be paid one month in arrears. About the Role
As Property Officer at Erewash Borough Council, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the planned and reactive maintenance for the Council’s property assets - driving innovation, sustainability, and value during this exciting period of change.

What You Will Do
As the Property Officer you will help maintain and improve the Council’s buildings by planning, delivering and reviewing both planned and reactive maintenance programmes. This includes preparing specifications and tender documents, procuring contractors, managing budgets and ensuring all works comply with building regulations and legislation. You will also carry out building condition inspections, monitor contractor performance and update maintenance plans to ensure assets remain safe, well-maintained and cost-effective.

A key part of the role is ensuring strong health and safety compliance, including areas such as Working at Height, Asbestos, Legionella and CDM Regulations. You will also support colleagues in Engineering, Building Compliance and Corporate Health &amp; Safety, helping keep the Council’s buildings safe, compliant and fit for public use.

The role also involves making informed decisions about how maintenance and repair work is prioritised, ensuring buildings remain safe and in good condition. You will check the quality of contractor work, recommend repair actions and confirm when work meets the required standards. Strong financial responsibility is essential, as you will manage budgets, monitor spending, and certify contractor payments in line with contract requirements.

About You
You will have:

<li>Experience managing building maintenance programmes, undertaking building inspections, and managing contracted building repairs.</li>
<li>A degree in surveying or HNC/HND level qualification in a building construction related field.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of construction, building pathology, procurement, Health &amp; Safety legislation, and the ability to use IT software including Microsoft Office packages.</li>
<li>Knowledge of legislation affecting building operations e.g. British Standards, Approved Codes of Practice, Building and Planning Regulations.</li>
