Bereavement Services are responsible for the maintenance and care of the Boroughs 22 cemeteries and 15 closed churchyards.
These posts requires applicants to have extensive experience excavating graves and to be able to work outside in all weathers and be flexible in their approach to work.
The maintenance of cemeteries is a sensitive job and applicants will need to demonstrate an awareness of their surroundings along with a compassionate and caring nature.&nbsp; The role will involve the use of ride on mowers, power hand tools such as strimmers and blowers.
A good level of fitness is required as the job involves working outside in all weathers

From 3 separate depots, Green Sefton provides our communities with a clean, green Borough including parks and greenspaces, nature reserves, trees, and woodlands, play and recreational facilities, municipal golf courses and our coast, beaches, and countryside, which include specially protected sites and landscapes, benefitting the health and wellbeing of residents, visitors, investors, and nature.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Working almost exclusively in outdoor environments, the work involves a variety of duties, examples can include; lifting and carrying, dealing with the public, using tools and equipment, cash handling, grass cutting, cleansing and driving, depending on location and business needs.
Applicants should ideally hold a full clean driving licence.&nbsp;
All successful applicants will be assigned to a team/depot to report to at the start/finish of each day. Duties may vary in location and in accordance with business needs, e.g. working on different sites from time to time. Where this is the case, return travel will be provided from the depots each day.&nbsp;
Green Sefton welcomes applications from graduates and are open to shorter contracts during the summer season as posts dictate.&nbsp;
Some roles include some evening, weekend and bank holiday working at enhanced rates. Hours of work and rota patterns to be outlined at interview stage.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Sefton Council to appoint a 36-hour permanent role for a Crematorium Operative in Sefton Bereavement Services Team.
The role sits in the Bereavement Services Team, within In House Operational Services based in Thornton Garden of Rest/Southport Crematorium.
As part of the team in this role you will be responsible for all cremation duties of the deceased as well as chapel duties and maintenance works, customer and deceased care, and memorial queries throughout the year and ensuring that due care and attention to detail is at the highest standards in line with Sefton Council policies and the Job Description.
As a Crematorium Operative you will be tasked with ensuring safety is always monitored and any issues reported to be resolved immediately as well the process of undertaking the cremation of the deceased is dignified and respectful at all times. 14 hours per month contractual overtime will also be paid to cover out of hours duties of the service where required.
The Crematoria service undertakes circa 2400 cremations per annum as well as 600 burials per annum and provides a high-quality service to the bereaved.
This is an exciting time to join Bereavement Services at Sefton as the service is now on a journey to become more digitally friendly and provide a more modern funeral service to the people of Sefton and surrounding areas.

We are a county wide service</li><li>As well as the store at Head Office, each gypsy and traveller site has an equipped site office where you can prepare for your day and access materials needed.</li><li>Work is varied&nbsp; - carrying out fence repairs, plumbing fixtures to maintaining brick work and pre planned maintenance</li><li>Maintaining tidiness in public areas, and to encourage tenants to keep their plots presentable</li><li>You will required to take the on-call phone one week in every eight as part of our of hours service.
