Fixed term contract for 12 months
We are seeking a Control Operator to work in our busy Lifeline office. Lifeline is a support service for the elderly and vulnerable tenants and residents of Charnwood Borough Council. Controllers are alerted to customers’ needs by the activation of a pendant or pullcord which sends an alert to the Lifeline monitoring center. The controller is required to ask questions to assess the nature of the emergency and decide on the action to be taken.
Action could involve calling the appropriate emergency services, talking to the appropriate medical professionals, or contacting family or carers.
Full training will be provided for the successful candidate.
This service is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week service, 365 days a year. You will work an average of 24 hours per week, the role is shift work and includes a night, an evening, afternoon, and a morning shift. This includes weekends and bank holidays as per the rota. Some shifts will require lone working. Out of hours you will be responding to calls for emergency repair requests from tenants living in the borough.
The successful candidate must be able to deal calmly and confidently with a variety of situations and always remain polite and courteous. You must have the ability to work using your own initiative.
You must be a confident, clear communicator and able to respond in a manner which ensures trust in the service we are providing.
Candidates should have a knowledge and understanding of handling sensitive personal information in line with Data Protection.
You will be required to cover for colleagues’ sickness and holidays for which you will be paid overtime.

Reporting to the Facilities Officer &amp; Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring excellent standards of customer satisfaction are maintained, providing the key interface between Council properties, the concierge and the facilities management service provision.&nbsp; You will liaise with customers, tenants, delivery partners, staff, contractors and public bodies as appropriate to ensure the provision of support services meets and exceeds service level agreements.
You will regularly update and monitor planned maintenance schedules, reacting to unplanned activities, ensuring all contractors are appropriately prepared and compliant for any works on Council premises and that procurement and delivery of these are compliant with the Council’s standards.
To be successful in this role you will need:

<li>Relevant, recent experience in the delivery of facilities management and / or estates management operations either through direct delivery or an outsourced service</li>
<li>Experience in work planning and management and creation of work programmes.</li>

The Environmental Services team are seeking a committed, enthusiastic individual with excellent administrative skills and an eagerness to learn.&nbsp;
The post reports directly to the Waste Operations Manager and will work across the environmental services function which covers domestic waste, trade waste, grounds maintenance, street cleansing and environmental crime.&nbsp;
You will be an integral part in supporting to deliver several exciting projects within the Environmental Services department including the implementation of a new waste strategy.&nbsp;
You will be required to undertake various site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with service level agreements, terms &amp; conditions and monitor contractor performance.&nbsp;
An essential part of your job will be to build strong relationships with our contractor, other external partners and internal colleagues, so you must be an excellent and confident communicator, ensuring others trust your professional judgement and advice.&nbsp;
The role will involve a lot of customer interaction, acting as the first point of contact for the Environmental Services team. A commitment to a high level of customer care is essential, as well as attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.&nbsp;
You will play an active role in a multi-skilled and motivated team, and there will be plenty of opportunities to develop your skills, progress your career and contribute to the direction of the service.&nbsp;
You will also be able to demonstrate negotiation skills; enthusiasm; self-motivation; sound judgement; a proactive approach to problem solving and tackling challenges; excellent organisational skills; and an ability to identify and act on opportunities to improve service delivery.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Are you an experienced and competent Administrator looking to work in HR?
We are a friendly, small, flexible and busy generalist HR team looking to recruit a Human Resources Assistant for an initial period of up to 12 months with a possible extension.
You will act as the first point of contact for internal and external customers and partners, providing an effective and efficient HR and Learning &amp; Development administration service.&nbsp; Using our policies and procedures you will promote best practice by providing staff and managers with timely, consistent and up to date guidance on anything from annual leave and pay to sickness absence management and maternity leave.&nbsp;
You will be responsible for the co-ordination of multiple end-to-end recruitment campaigns, issuing employment contracts and processing all the new starter documentation including setting starters up on the payroll system.&nbsp; You will also support users on the self-service module of the payroll system and produce monthly management information.&nbsp; Therefore, a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, the ability to work to tight deadlines and work in a confidential manner are essential.
Other main duties and responsibilities include:

<li>Payroll administration, working closely with the Payroll Officer and payroll provider</li>

Ideally you will already have an interest or some experience working in HR and a willingness and ability to develop your knowledge. You will need to be a competent administrator and be able to demonstrate your Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams at intermediate level.&nbsp;
Highly organised, with the proven ability to plan and prioritise your own workload, you will also have excellent communication and customer service skills, a proactive and flexible approach and the ability to manage a varied and rapidly changing workload.&nbsp; Recent and relevant experience of working in a fast-paced HR environment and a working knowledge of recent HR legislation and best practice are desirable but not essential.
