About You
Experience of carrying out trading standards inspections, investigations or other criminal enforcement and compliance activities is vital. You must be competent in the legal process aspects of the role and the safeguards applicable when taking enforcement action.
This is an active field officer post, and you will have to exercise warrants, pursue rogue traders and support victims.&nbsp; You will need to be a highly motivated self-starter and completer / finisher with good communication and negotiation skills.&nbsp; You will work in partnership with neighbouring North-East London authorities, Police, Fire, Customs, Home Office and other enforcement teams.&nbsp; You will need the full range of investigation and reporting skills, including appearance at Magistrates’ and Crown Courts.

Responsibilities -

To be successful in this role you will need to:

- Significant post-qualification experience in litigation, ideally within or advising local authorities.
- Previous experience of people management, ideally within a local authority setting (or similar).

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our friendly and professional legal department here at the London Borough of Redbridge, to provide a comprehensive and professional legal service on a permanent basis. The London Borough of Redbridge is an exciting&nbsp;and&nbsp;rapidly evolving place to live and work. This post is a key opportunity for a highly motivated property legal assistant or paralegal to bring their experience and enthusiasm to the team.
You will report to the Principal Lawyer $ú Property and Planning within the Legal Department. You will also work closely with other Council departmental clients and specialist departments.
You will provide the Council with sound advice and guidance on aspects of all property related work.
Responsibilities -&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Conduct a full range of residential property cases and some commercial property cases on behalf of the Council's Housing and Property Team.</li>
<li>Liaising with HMRC in relation to SDLT liability.</li>
<li>Complete and lodge application for first registration at Land Registry</li>
<li>Handling of post completion enquiries including request for certificate of compliance, deed of postponement and requisitions raised by the Land Registry.</li>
<li>Experience of drafting less complex title reports.</li>
<li>Utilising skills and experience gained within a similar position, you will report to the Principal Lawyer (Property &amp; Planning) and will have your own varied caseload of matters including residential and commercial property and land transactions.</li>
</ul>
To be successful in this role you will need to:
<ul>
<li>Hold a qualifying law degree, LPC or equivalent legal qualification.</li>
<li>Have experience of both residential and commercial conveyancing, preferably in a local government context.</li>
<li>Experienced of dealing with all aspects of Right to Buy transactions</li>
<li>Sound knowledge of the law and practice of property law</li>
<li>Conduct a case load within your area of expertise with limited supervision</li>
</ul>

Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council are seeking an experienced Contracts and Procurement Lawyer to join our legal services team.
You will be a qualified solicitor or barrister (or equivalent) with recent experience of working in the areas of contracts and procurement in a local government context.
Applicants will require excellent communications skills and be confident in providing practical legal advice and assistance on a wide range of contract and procurement matters, ensuring compliance with public procurement regulations.
You should be proficient in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating public contracts and have excellent understanding of the public procurement framework and local government law and a proven ability to manage a varied workload with minimal supervision
Reporting to the Head of Legal and Democratic Services, the successful candidate will have a broad portfolio of work including high value contract tenders and providing advice to all of the authority’s services.

Job DescriptionSenior Court Officer - Debt Management TeamGrade ESalary: £39,027 - £44,463 per annum12 Months Fixed term37 Hours per WeekSituated on the River Thames, Thurrock is an ambitious unitary with vision and opportunities for its residents and businesses.Thurrock’s Debt Management Team is a highly recognised services having been nominated twice for the IRRV (Institute of Revenues Rating and Valuation) Most Improved Team of the Year Award and was in the finalists in 2012 and achieved a Bronze Award in 2013.The team are currently looking for experienced Court Officers to join this dynamic team.
