Richmond and Wandsworth Better Service Partnership is a shared public service organisation supporting Richmond and Wandsworth Councils. We deliver vital services to our communities and are continually evolving our Digital, Data & Technology (DDaT) function to be more agile, secure and resilient.
A position exists within the Network & Telecoms team for a Network Analyst. In this role, you will support and maintain the council’s network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security and performance across sites and services.
You will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the network, helping to support wired and wireless connectivity, resolve incidents, and contribute to ongoing improvements and transformation projects.
About the Role
- Supporting and maintaining network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, firewalls)
- Monitoring network performance and proactively resolving issues
- Diagnosing and fixing network faults and incidents
- Assisting with upgrades, migrations and network improvement projects
- Supporting network security controls and responding to vulnerabilities
- Maintaining accurate technical documentation and network diagrams
- Working with suppliers and internal teams to resolve technical issues
What we’re looking for
- Experience working with enterprise network technologies (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi, firewalls, VPNs)
- Understanding of network monitoring, troubleshooting and performance optimisation
- Knowledge of network security principles and best practice
- Experience with network hardware such as switches, routers and wireless solutions
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical colleagues
- Ability to work effectively in a live service environment
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Experience working in a public sector or complex multi-site organisation
- Exposure to cloud or hybrid networking (e.g. Azure networking)
- Familiarity with tools such as Aruba, Fortinet, SolarWinds or similar
- Knowledge of Microsoft Teams Voice, SIP, SBCs, Direct Routing and call flow fundamentals.
