As our Senior Automation and Data Engineer, you will play a key leadership role in making this happen. Working closely with the Chief Officer – Digital and Communications, you’ll lead the day-to-day operations of the Data, Insights and Automation (DIA) team and help shape how we modernise the way the Council works.
This is a great opportunity to combine hands-on technical experience with strategic delivery – driving forward an ambitious “invest-to-save” programme that generates significant impact, including cost avoidance, cost savings and hours saved across the Council.

In this role you’ll:

<li>Lead and oversee day-to-day operations and delivery of Data, Insights and Automation (DIA) team</li>
<li>Design and deliver automation and data engineering solutions to improve services and increase productivity</li>

About you 

You’ll bring experience of leading automation or data engineering functions within a complex organisation with a track record of delivering measurable transformation.
You’ll have:
<ul>
<li>Significant experience leading automation or data engineering functions, ideally within complex organisation</li>
<li>Advanced skills in automation tooling (e.g. RPA, workflow automation, integrations, APIs)</li>
<li>Advanced skills in data engineering (ETL/ELT, data modelling, pipelines).</li>
<li>Experience of line management, motivating and supporting a technical team</li>
<li>Good communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.</li>

As our Digital Projects Officer you’ll play an important role in supporting the delivery of Data, Insights and Automation (DIA) projects from initiation through to implementation. You’ll help ensure projects are are well-governed, delivered on time and within budget, and achieve the expected operational and financial benefits.
This is a great opportunity for someone with fantastic technical and communication skills who enjoys working across teams. You’ll act as the key bridge between Council services, technical DIA staff and corporate governance (including the AI Ethics Board and Transformation programmes).

<li>Awareness of information governance, data protection and ethical considerations in digital projects.</li>
<li>Strong communications skills with the ability to work with technical and non-technical colleagues</li>

What is the job role? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new Web Development Officer within the Digital Services Systems team.As a Web Development Officer, you will play a key role in transforming the digital experience for Coventry City Council’s customers, staff and Coventry residents. Working within the Systems Team in Digital Services and stakeholders from across the organisation, you will plan, develop, and deliver web solutions that improve how residents, partners, and staff interact with the Council online.
