About the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to the Housing Register and Allocations Teams to fulfil their services to housing applicants and tenants. The administrative functions should be carried out in full compliance with Council policies, procedures, and the appropriate legislation. Post holders will be placed in a team responsible for designated duties within the range covered by this post as determined by the Administrators Manager in line with fluctuating work demands and priorities that may change from time to time.
The range of duties could include promotion of alternative housing options; support for vulnerable people; mobility schemes; data input and indexing, document management, composing email correspondence, assisting with the preparation of standard documents, dealing with telephone enquiries, liaising with colleagues and external partners, and supporting service improvement initiatives. Additionally, the Lettings Administrator will help with advertising, viewings, property refusals, decants, mutual exchanges, and updating housing application records. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
To be successful in this role you must have:
A good working understanding and awareness of local housing demand and the needs of residents.
Knowledge of Housing Acts in relation to Letting of Social Housing.
A good understanding of Immigration guidelines in respect of eligibility for social housing.
Awareness of welfare benefits and eligibility
Ability to communicate clearly, courteously and patiently with members of the public and with colleague
Able to use a range of IT systems.
Able to make a positive contribution to deliver value for money.

The Post
One of the Government’s main priorities is to ensure that all forms of homelessness and rough sleeping is reduced. At Brent Council, we are very committed and passionate about this.
We have received funding from Ministry of, Housing, Communities and Local Government for a full time Rough Sleeper Navigator positions to work with rough sleepers to navigate pathways for a life away from the streets. &nbsp;
The post holder will act as a single point of contact for rough sleepers and work with this client group in a person-centred way to ensure sustainable outcomes around housing are achieved.
The postholder must have comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and procedures on homelessness in order to provide innovative advice and solutions when dealing with complex cases. Clear guidance and supervision will be provided in an organisation that promotes people from within, is passionate about equality and diversity and wants its staff to succeed.
You will be supporting rough sleepers to end their homelessness and will do this by providing robust housing advice and support, working with partner agencies and developing personalised housing plans for customers with a firm focus on homelessness prevention to ensure that customers housing and homelessness issues are resolved.

About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Homelessness, Independence and Preventative Services which adopts a preventative approach across the housing, health and social care agendas. You must be professional, energetic and enthusiastic as we are interested in what you can bring to help us improve and develop our services to support some of our most vulnerable residents. We are looking for someone to take a lead role in housing allocations to council properties and nominations to Registered Providers
You are highly organised and will manage the team that allocate permanent council accommodation and nominate to Registered Providers to ensure properties are let as soon as practicably possible. You will ensure that viewings and signups for new tenancies are carried out promptly, taking account of individual customer needs. You will monitor and provide key performance data on Allocations.
You will engage with our service users via a combination of customer facing contact via telephone and email, ensuring customer records are accurate and up to date at all times. You are highly motivated to promote our service and actively participate in developing service improvement across the Homelessness, Independence and Preventatives Services. You work collaboratively across the service and with other professionals to achieve individual outcomes for residents while supporting the shared goals of the council.
About The Team You’ll Be Working In
This is an exciting and busy role in the Allocations team. The service is developing and progressing our agenda to reduce the use of temporary accommodation and achieve more upstream prevention outcomes.

The Post
As an Area Tenancy Manager (Housing Officer), you’ll manage end-to-end tenancies for a patch of social tenants. You will provide varied support to Brent residents to help them live safely and comfortably in their homes, acting as the face of the landlord for your patch.
You'll have the opportunity to develop detailed knowledge across various areas of tenancy management, including voids, lettings, income and arrears, anti-social behaviour (ASB), and providing support based on an individual person’s needs. With a consistent and smaller patch of properties, you’ll improve the quality and perception of the Housing Management Service. The team provides information, advice and support services to older and disabled residents who wish to adapt, repair or maintain their existing home or consider alternative housing options.About the Role and Our Ideal CandidateWe are looking for a Lead Officer to shape and manage the team of caseworkers and surveyors. This is an opportunity to influence how funding, information and advice can be used to improve resident’s lives and regenerate urban areas. &nbsp;You will be innovative in providing HIA services, while forming strong public health and health service links to provide a holistic approach to assist our most vulnerable residents. &nbsp;As an operational manager with recent experience of administering disabled facilities grants or housing renewal grants, or surveying you will thrive on creativity and seek new ways to deliver grants and other financial assistance, linking into the wider public health agenda of preventative health care.&nbsp; You will need to be organised and flexible, providing a strong lead for the team as we find new ways of delivering outcomes for our residents.
