About the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to the Housing Register and Allocations Teams to fulfil their services to housing applicants and tenants. The administrative functions should be carried out in full compliance with Council policies, procedures, and the appropriate legislation. Post holders will be placed in a team responsible for designated duties within the range covered by this post as determined by the Administrators Manager in line with fluctuating work demands and priorities that may change from time to time.
The range of duties could include promotion of alternative housing options; support for vulnerable people; mobility schemes; data input and indexing, document management, composing email correspondence, assisting with the preparation of standard documents, dealing with telephone enquiries, liaising with colleagues and external partners, and supporting service improvement initiatives. Additionally, the Lettings Administrator will help with advertising, viewings, property refusals, decants, mutual exchanges, and updating housing application records. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
To be successful in this role you must have:
A good working understanding and awareness of local housing demand and the needs of residents.
Knowledge of Housing Acts in relation to Letting of Social Housing.
A good understanding of Immigration guidelines in respect of eligibility for social housing.
Awareness of welfare benefits and eligibility
Ability to communicate clearly, courteously and patiently with members of the public and with colleague
Able to use a range of IT systems.
Able to make a positive contribution to deliver value for money.

The Post
One of the Government’s main priorities is to ensure that all forms of homelessness and rough sleeping is reduced. At Brent Council, we are very committed and passionate about this.
We have received funding from Ministry of, Housing, Communities and Local Government for a full time Rough Sleeper Navigator positions to work with rough sleepers to navigate pathways for a life away from the streets. &nbsp;
The post holder will act as a single point of contact for rough sleepers and work with this client group in a person-centred way to ensure sustainable outcomes around housing are achieved.
The postholder must have comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and procedures on homelessness in order to provide innovative advice and solutions when dealing with complex cases. The Post
As an Area Tenancy Manager (Housing Officer), you’ll manage end-to-end tenancies for a patch of social tenants. You will provide varied support to Brent residents to help them live safely and comfortably in their homes, acting as the face of the landlord for your patch.

As a Specialist Damp &amp; Mould Surveyor, you will be responsible for assessing and resolving damp, mould, and associated maintenance issues across our housing portfolio. You will play a critical part in supporting our Repairs Partnering Team, ensuring that contractors, consultants, and partner agencies deliver repairs to the highest standards meeting all compliance, specification, scheduling, and budgetary requirements. &nbsp; <a href="https://fs-filestore-eu.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/Waltham_Forest/govRoleProfiles/Role%20Profile%20-%20Damp%20and%20Mould%20Surveyor%20(1846)%20.pdf" target="_blank">&gt;&gt; Click here to download the role profile &lt;&lt;&nbsp;</a> Key Responsibilities:&nbsp; <ul> <li>Where required, design and specify works, obtain estimates, oversee delivery, monitor expenditure, and complete sign off.</li> <li>High level of resident engagement to understand and document their concerns regarding their home.</li> <li>To collaborate with housing and legal teams in addressing potential disputes related to disrepair claims.&nbsp;</li> <li>To undertake inspections and audits of partnering contractors particularly in relation to disrepair. Reviewing completed work against the schedule and contractor invoices and resolving issues as necessary.</li> <li>To provide management reports and schedules relating to any deficiencies identified, and when necessary, certify rectification of snagging of items.&nbsp;</li> <li>Work closely with the Repairs Partnering team ensuring all relevant legislation is being adhered to. Ensure safety, quality, and productivity assessments are carried out so that all work complies with current codes of practice, standards, and legislation, particularly health and safety.</li> <li>Where required, design and specify works, obtain estimates, oversee delivery, monitor expenditure, and complete sign off.</li> <li>As required support other surveying functions within Housing Assets.&nbsp;</li> <li>Undertake / support consultation procedures. Identify issues, resolving as appropriate and escalating complex problems if necessary.</li> <li>Collate process and analyse complex information.
