What we’re looking for&nbsp;

About the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to the Housing Register and Allocations Teams to fulfil their services to housing applicants and tenants. The administrative functions should be carried out in full compliance with Council policies, procedures, and the appropriate legislation. Post holders will be placed in a team responsible for designated duties within the range covered by this post as determined by the Administrators Manager in line with fluctuating work demands and priorities that may change from time to time.
The range of duties could include promotion of alternative housing options; support for vulnerable people; mobility schemes; data input and indexing, document management, composing email correspondence, assisting with the preparation of standard documents, dealing with telephone enquiries, liaising with colleagues and external partners, and supporting service improvement initiatives. What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for a technically skilled and proactive professional to provide expert support within our Accommodation Supply and Resettlement Service. The role involves inspecting and assessing housing properties, advising on repairs and maintenance, issuing and managing works orders, and ensuring all projects comply with Council standards, procurement policies, and Health and Safety regulations. You’ll manage budgets, oversee contractors, and support disrepair investigations while ensuring value for money and maintaining property quality and compliance. Strong analytical, communication, and record-keeping skills are essential, along with the ability to conduct risk assessments, prepare technical reports, and handle complex stakeholder interactions. The ideal candidate will bring surveying expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to improving asset performance, reducing void times, and delivering high-quality accommodation for residents.
Location
The job is primarily based in Laurence House, Catford, London, SE6 4RU, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.

This is the entry point of the role, so you will need to be able to demonstrate the relevant knowledge, experience and skills to get you started, but you will be supported to develop in your role through induction, probation and a supportive Performance Appraisal and Career Conversation.
