This role is within the Asset Management Department, reporting to the Senior Building Manager.
Working in Building Services Team, you will be involved in the organisation, supervision and cost checking of planned and reactive maintenance work to Spelthorne Borough Council municipal and residential properties.&nbsp;
You will be providing the quality control services required in connection with Council’s strategic maintenance programme ensuring compliance to the correct specification, plus reporting and monitoring construction related key performance indicators.
You will need a comprehensive knowledge of construction from a trade background, be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team and stay calm in an emergency. In addition, you should have experience of checking contractors’ compliance to construction regulations and quality of workmanship especially adherence to health and safety legislation.
You will need a vehicle, and you must have a valid driving licence&nbsp;for the type of vehicle you are driving.
You will preferably have good management skills, be confident and adaptable, be able to communicate well in person and in writing and be competent in Word and Excel.&nbsp;

Who are we?
Hawley Woods School provides a specialist environment and support primarily for autistic children and those needing a similarly adapted approach with small classes of 6-8 pupils within our calm, nurturing setting. Our school caters for children from the age of 7 up to 16 years (Key Stages 2, 3 and 4). 
We help children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) who may be struggling to keep up with the pace of work, may be losing confidence, or struggling with the overwhelming sensory environment of their mainstream school. We also help children who have been out of education for a period of time, to positively re-engage in an education which takes into account any negative experiences they may have had in schools so far.

Hawley Woods School is part of Kedleston Group. We specialise in providing specialist education and care for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Wokingham Children’s Services are looking to recruit an experienced Social Worker in the MASH Team on a Permanent Basis. The MASH Team is a fast-paced team and the Single Front Door into Children’s Services and Early Help, the role represents the wider service and is often the first point of contact for families, members of the public and professionals. Strong relational skills are key to respond to others in need, and sometimes in crisis. Most of the work undertaken will be on the phone, however the team also have a walk in service, should a family wish to present to the office for advice and support.
As a Social Worker in the MASH Team you will need to be able to process contacts within timescales and as part of this role you will speak to members of the public, professionals, and family members and provide detailed analyses and recommendations about next steps for families and complete safety planning as required.&nbsp; The MASH Team completes robust work at the front door to ensure that the correct level of support and intervention is provided, in line with the Threshold document.
The correct candidate for this role will need to have great inter-personal skills, excellent recording skills, and a sound knowledge of children’s legislation and thresholds – as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to multi-task.&nbsp; The MASH Team is currently working in a hybrid way with Social Workers on a rota basis. We need to have social work presence in the office – so a level of flexibility is required.

The MASH team is home to representatives from our partner agencies including Police and Health and refers to the virtual links we have with Housing, Probation, Education and Cranstoun Domestic Abuse &amp; Substance Misuse Services. The right candidate must work collaboratively with these agencies to make sure the child’s voice is evident through the work completed.

The Spotlight Theatre are recruiting a Venue Technician with a sound bias. The Broxbourne Council venue, close to Hoddesdon High Street, has a host of first-class entertainment shows and events lined up with fun for all ages.
You will be responsible for the technical operation supporting The Spotlight’s busy events and entertainments programme.
You will ensure the smooth running of all technical aspects of productions (with a focus on sound), as well as support for a range of events including cinema, conferences and private functions. Duties involve rigging, setting up and operating sound/lighting and stage equipment according to the Venues busy programme.
This is a varied role including practical technical work and supervision of casual technicians. You will need to be great with people as well as having experience of large-scale technical work, including production experience.
You will have at least three years of experience working as a professional theatre technician in a multifunctional venue and have knowledge and experience of a broad range of technical theatre aspects such as sound, lighting, set building and stage management. You will have an in-depth knowledge of Health and Safety issues, good communication skills, and be a team player with the ability to work flexibly. Electrical installation and formal backstage technical qualifications are desirable.
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English is essential in this post.

Civil Enforcement Officer

This role is expected to provide an efficient and effective service of parking enforcement in our borough car parks, in order to minimise Parking Contraventions through the issue of penalty charge notices in appropriate cases, in accordance with the Council’s objectives, policies and the Parking Order.
The candidate will hold the relevant qualification to carry out Civil Enforcement (Level 2 Award, City and Guilds), be conversant with Civil Enforcement legislation and procedures, and be polite and capable of representing a positive and helpful image for Spelthorne Borough Council to our residents and customers.
The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for customer facing posts.&nbsp; These posts fall within the scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers.&nbsp; The Council, therefore, has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. Civil Enforcement Officer - (Ref: CEO)
Salary: Up to £30,076.80 p.a.

We are looking for hard-working and dedicated people to help keep Broxbourne’s streets safe by joining our team of Civil Enforcement Officers.
Keeping children safe especially near schools, ensuring emergency vehicles have unrestricted access, as well as &nbsp;improving access to disabled bays and local facilities for less-abled people are essential aspects of this role.
The Civil Enforcement Officers ensure that drivers comply with these regulations as well as providing guidance. They play a vital role in ensuring good traffic flow, maximising available parking spaces and enhancing safety throughout the Borough.
The areas of responsibility include both on and off-street parking contraventions, as well as the smooth running of the Council’s pay and display car parks and on-street pay and display areas.
Excellent customer care skills are essential for this role. Applicants must be able to demonstrate good people skills often in challenging situations; they must be good team players and have basic computer skills. They must be prepared to work in all weathers on a flexible rota basis, which will include weekends and bank holidays.
A manual driving licence is required. This role requires a standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English&nbsp; &nbsp; is essential in this post.

We have an excellent opportunity available for a Recovery Worker to join our Recovery College Team within the Adult Social Care and Integrated Mental Health service here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a Part-time, Permanent basis.
As the Recovery Worker, you will be responsible for welcoming new students to the service, supporting them to identify learning and support needs. Your role will be focused on facilitation of a variety of peer support groups and supporting the delivery of psychoeducational courses and workshops.
Working as part of the Recovery College team, you will share ideas and contribute to service design and development, using lived experience of mental health challenges to support students.

Key responsibilities:

<li>Support students in terms of identifying their learning needs, helping with registration and selection of courses.</li>
<li>Facilitate peer support groups and psychoeducational workshops and courses.</li>
<li>Support the development of the Recovery College programme by engaging with coproduction activity.</li>
<li>Make use of wider community resources, keeping up to date with local service provisions for signposting.</li>
<li>Ensure that environments used for sessions are safe and accessible.</li>
</ul>
Candidate requirements:
<ul>
<li>Experience of engaging with co-production.</li>
<li>Ability to build relationships with service users.</li>
<li>Experience of peer support group facilitation.</li>
<li>Excellent IT and computer literacy skills.</li>
<li>Ability to prioritise and use own initiative.</li>
