We are looking for 2 Arboricultural and Horticultural Officers, who will play a key role in shaping the borough’s landscape, supporting the management of our tree stock, green spaces, and horticultural assets. You’ll work alongside a passionate team, contributing to contract management, emergency response, and community engagement.

What You’ll Do

<li>Support the development of work programmes and contribute to service improvement.</li>

What We’re Looking For

<li>Level 4 in Arboriculture or equivalent.</li>

<li>Experience in urban arboricultural management and contract supervision.</li>
<li>Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.</li>

What we’re looking for:

<li>Qualifications: ND in Arboriculture Level 3 or equivalent Arboricultural qualifications.</li>
<li>Experience: While practical experience as a Tree Inspector is desirable, we’re happy to provide on-the-job training for the right candidates.</li>
<li>Knowledge: A good understanding of tree-related legislation and tree species identification.</li>
<li>Physical Fitness: Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and performing manual tasks.</li>
<li>Familiar with basic Windows programmes</li>
</ul>

About the Role: The council is responsible for the management and maintenance of a large stock of trees in our public realm. We aim to ensure the borough’s trees are maintained in a healthy and safe condition whilst maximising the environmental and economic benefits they bring. Supporting the Tree Services Manager, the post holder will be responsible for recording and inspecting trees, preparing work programmes, maintaining accurate records on our Ezytreev database, issuing tree works orders and overseeing tree planting schemes.&nbsp; As a front-line member of staff, you will be required to deal with tree-related enquiries and act as a key point of contact with the public and stakeholders. This will include carrying out site visits anywhere in the borough and beyond and providing technical advice.&nbsp; The successful candidate will have substantive knowledge and experience in the arboricultural industry, have been involved in the management of a large tree stock previously, as well as hold a clean driver’s licence. The post holder will be required to have at least a Level 4 qualification in arboriculture, be able to use IT data systems and communicate clearly both in writing and verbally. Contracted working hours are 35 per week Monday to Friday, and candidates must also be available to participate in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota. As well as good rates of pay, generous annual leave entitlement, a final salary pension scheme, successful applicants will be provided with full PPE and kit provided, excellent training and opportunities for developing your career within the tree service team and wider Lambeth Landscapes operations.
