Job Title: Health and Safety Officer Location of work: Town Hall&nbsp; Salary: &nbsp;£38,298 - £49,194 pro rata (£26,595.83 – £34,162.50) dependant on experience Basis: Permanent Part time (25 hours per week)
 About the Role The role requires a suitably qualified person to carry out health and safety at work inspections, investigations and enforcement interventions, as part of our friendly, supportive Environmental Health team.
 We will consider applicants with a range of suitable qualifications or experience levels, including those who are fully qualified (EHRB and/or CIEH registered) Environmental Health Officers or Health and Safety Officers who hold suitable qualifications. Support and training will be given to help meet competency requirements where there is a development need, e.g. if recently qualified.
 The role primarily involves health and safety at work duties, including infection control related to skin piercing, but could potentially also include some general public health investigation and enforcement work.&nbsp;
 About the Person&nbsp; The successful candidate will:&nbsp; • &nbsp; &nbsp;Hold a relevant professional health and safety qualification, such as the NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or a Degree in Environmental Health or equivalent&nbsp; And have: • &nbsp; &nbsp;Good knowledge of the law and legal framework around health and safety at work requirements and enforcement; • &nbsp; &nbsp;Experience of inspecting and enforcing health and safety at work standards in premises; • &nbsp; &nbsp;Experience of investigating accidents and complaints regarding health and safety at work conditions and standards; • &nbsp; &nbsp;Experience of formal enforcement activity, ideally in a health and safety role &nbsp;e.g. drafting formal notices, gathering evidence etc; • &nbsp; &nbsp;Great communication skills; • &nbsp; &nbsp;An investigative and analytical approach; • &nbsp; &nbsp;Excellent time and case management skills; • &nbsp; &nbsp;Strong IT skills and be able to produce clear reports and case records; and, • &nbsp; &nbsp;An alignment with our organisational behaviours of being Positive, Supportive, Flexible and Innovative.

Health and Safety Officer

We are recruiting for a Environmental Health Officer/Food Safety Officer to join our Food Safety and Health &amp; Safety Team.Role Purpose As an Officer with delegated authority and competency, you will be carrying out a programme of proactive and reactive functions which will contribute to ensuring compliance with food hygiene legislation within the Borough.Key Responsibilities Using delegated powers and competency to ensure compliance with food hygiene legislation so that the standards of food hygiene are maintained in businesses, for the benefit of residents, visitors and those coming into the Borough for their employment.
