This is a landmark moment to join City of Wolverhampton Council, we're migrating our ERP to a modern SaaS solution, and we're looking for an experienced ERP Business Systems Manager who's ready to be part of the journey.

It's a rare opportunity to step in at the heart of a major transformation programme: shaping our technology roadmap, modernising how the whole organisation operates, and leaving a genuine, lasting mark on the services we deliver to residents and staff.

As the Council's ERP Design Authority, you'll own the strategy, development, and continuous improvement of our ERP platform and associated systems, keeping them secure, resilient, compliant, and future-ready. You'll lead a talented ERP team, partner with stakeholders across the organisation, and drive the improvements that move us forward.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the ERP strategy and roadmap, aligning technology with Council priorities.
  • Oversee system configuration, integrations, upgrades, security, and performance.
  • Act as the authority on ERP architecture and change management.
  • Manage and develop the ERP Team, fostering a high-performing culture.
  • Support transformation programmes and drive process automation.
  • Build strong supplier and stakeholder relationships.
  • Manage governance, risks, budgets, licensing, and compliance.

About You

You'll bring:

  • Significant experience managing enterprise ERP systems (Agresso experience desirable).
  • Strong IT leadership, governance, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience delivering complex system and business change projects.
  • Knowledge of integrations, data management, and technical architecture.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • A passion for continuous improvement and customer-focused services.

Why Join City of Wolverhampton Council?

This is a fantastic opportunity to shape one of the Council’s most important digital platforms while working in a supportive and forward-thinking organisation.

Our benefits include:

  • Generous annual leave – starting at 26 days and increasing to 35 days with service.
  • Local Government Pension Scheme – one of the UK's most valuable public sector pension schemes.
  • Free parking at several Council sites across the city.
  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements to support work-life balance.
  • Wellbeing and lifestyle savings through our employee benefits app.
  • Salary sacrifice schemes and a range of retail discounts.
  • Dedicated wellbeing support for you and your family.
  • Up to two days paid volunteering leave each year, helping you make a difference in your community.
  • Inclusive employee networks, including active staff equality forums covering Race, Religion and Belief, Disability and Age, Gender, Maternity and Paternity, and LGBT+ colleagues.

Ready to Make an Impact?

If you're ready to lead a mission-critical platform, influence organisational change, and help shape the future of digital services across the Council, we'd love to hear from you.

Our working arrangements

All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empower employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocated where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location. Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.

Please refer to the Job Description for further information on the workstyle assigned to the role you are applying for.

Our status as a Disability Confident Employer showcases our commitment to people with disabilities or health conditions, advocating for their opportunities and potential.

We've received the Stonewall Gold Award, emphasising our dedication to the LGBT+ community by nurturing an inspiring, inclusive, and equal workplace.

As of March 2023, the RACE Code Quality Mark signifies our active engagement with racial equality. These recognitions validate our continuous efforts towards fostering an inclusive work environment that respects and values our diverse employees.

As part of our commitment as a Disability Confident employer, a Gold Award Armed Forces employer and our commitment to supporting care leavers - we offer a guaranteed interview as long as your application meets the essential criteria for the post.

We encourage, inspire and value an inclusive culture here at the council where employees can flourish, thrive and be themselves. We have four staff equality forums for employees to join. These help to ensure our employees have a voice, they feel empowered to speak up and where everyone is treated with respect - Learn more about the staff equality forums here
