On the day you will be delivering a 10 minute presentation to a group of panel members, this may include representation from expert by experience, on following subject: In your role as Team Manager how would you support your team to strengthen the community connections and engagement with local partnerships.You can deliver this presentation in any method you feel comfortable i.e. using your laptop, hand out of the copies, flip chart or just talk through the points you have prepared.What will you be doing?Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Lead and manage a locality-based team of Social Workers, Assessment and Enablement Workers (AEW), Senior AEWs, Community Support workers and Business Support team members. </li><li>Ensure the team delivers person-centred support in line with the Care Act 2014, with a strong emphasis on safeguarding adults at risk, promoting independence, and achieving positive outcomes.</li><li>Represent the Adult Social Care team in internal and external forums, developing service pathways and partnerships to meet local needs.</li><li>Provide expert oversight of safeguarding practice and manage risk across the locality.</li><li>Recruit, supervise, and support staff, promoting continuous professional development and identifying training needs.</li><li>Work collaboratively with other locality teams and wider council services to improve integration and service delivery.</li><li>Manage resources effectively, including budget oversight and authorisation of care packages.</li><li>Ensure data and information quality performance</li><li>Support the implementation of service plans and Adult Social Care Strategy outcomes.</li><li>Investigate and respond to complaints</li></ul>About youEssential Skills &amp; Qualifications:<ul><li>Demonstrated experience in supervising and managing staff, including qualified professionals, within a social care setting.</li><li>Preferably a recognised professional qualification (Degree or Diploma) in health or social care and hold relevant professional registration.</li><li>Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation including the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act and safeguarding frameworks.</li><li>Experience in leading safeguarding enquiries under Section 42 of the Care Act.</li><li>Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.</li><li>Proficiency in IT systems and confident in presenting information to various audiences.</li><li>Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in both service delivery and employment practices.</li></ul>Our BenefitsHere at North Northamptonshire Council, we’re transforming for the better, using all our creativity and imagination to create the best life for our local people. This small but highly effective and dedicated team needs an experienced Senior Engineer to lead the Highway Adoption and Highway Agreement functions. You will negotiate legal agreements including those under Section 38 and Section 278 of the Highways Act 1980 required to facilitate new development. You will also lead on providing technical and engineering advice and support for the Council to ensure that developer proposals comply with appropriate local and national standards as well as working with developers to get new roads adopted.You will be managing a small team with big responsibilities vital to ensure the Council’s aims and objectives of supporting appropriate development and growth are achieved.About youAre you our new Senior Highway Adoption and Agreements Engineer ready to lead our highway adoption and agreement services so vital to make sure new developments are served by the infrastructure necessary and which is compliant with appropriate standards? You will be a suitably experienced and qualified engineer familiar with local government and development processes, the planning system as well as the highway adoption mechanisms.
