Join our dedicated Housing, Wellbeing and Communities team as an&nbsp;Accommodation Sustainment and Move On Officer, where your work will directly contribute to reducing rough sleeping and homelessness across the Arun District.
Funded by the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local government through the&nbsp;Rough Sleeper Initiative (RSI), this role is vital in supporting individuals who are at risk of or recovering from rough sleeping. You’ll work with a caseload of 15–25 clients, offering tailored support to help them sustain tenancies, access services, and move into long-term accommodation.
We are looking for some who is

<li>Skilled in&nbsp;crisis management, negotiation, and problem-solving</li>
<li>Comfortable working independently and as part of a multi-agency team</li>

<li>Attend tenanted properties to thoroughly assess and identify causes of damp and mould attributed to rising damp, penetrating damp, condensation, or other factors using knowledge and experience.</li>

<li>Carry out thorough washdown and cleaning treatments whilst on site to mitigate immediate health risk for tenants in situ.</li>

About the role:
Horsham District Council is looking for a Neighbourhood Warden to work in the parishes of Steyning, Bramber and Upper Beeding.
A Neighbourhood Warden is an exciting and varied role which will see you working alongside other HDC staff, Sussex Police, the Parish Councils, local voluntary sector organisations and other agencies to find solutions for a range of community issues and improve the quality of life for local residents through engagement, promotion and support. Working as part of a small team, within the Council’s Communities department, the role involves tackling the fear of crime, encouraging a sense of shared ownership and responsibility, and responding to the needs of local residents through development of local projects and signposting to existing services, whilst providing a uniformed, reassuring, patrolling presence with the ability to use enforcement measures as necessary.
Working a shift rota to provide a service at peak times, the job will entail working some evenings and weekends, adaptable working arrangements may be possible. It should be noted that the post involves foot patrol outside in all weathers.
You will join an existing Neighbourhood Warden in the parish.
Neighbourhood Wardens are employed by HDC but funded through the Parish Councils and the Council has a three year partnership agreement with parishes who have adopted the scheme. The current agreement expires in March 2028 and may be renewed after this date, subject to further Parish Council funding.
About you:
To succeed as a Neighbourhood Warden, you will be a good communicator, solution focused, confident, enthusiastic and come with a genuine commitment to identifying and developing mechanisms for improving quality of life for all residents.
You will be educated to A-Level standard (or equivalent) and have previous experience of working with the members of the public. As part of the Grounds Maintenance Operations Team you will be required to undertake tractor driving duties throughout the city with particular reference to the use of mowing equipment and any other type of tractor mounted equipment. Duties and responsibilities include: •	Use of large tractors &amp; mowing equipment. •	Use of gang mowers including setting up and maintenance. •	Use of a wide range of tractor mounted equipment associated to winter sports renovations. •	Determining tractor implements required for each individual task. •	Identifying and understanding when equipment is failing. •	Working as part of a team with instruction and guidance from their supervisor and assist coordinating mowing and related operations. •	Responsible for ensuring any security access barriers to sites are opened and securely closed upon entrance and exit to sites. •	Understanding combinations of fuel appropriate to equipment. •	Communicating directly with machine suppliers or service technicians to explain any specific machine faults. •	Observing all Health and Safety rules and take reasonable care to promote the health and safety of themselves and others. The role will also involve undertaking a range of other grounds maintenance duties such as: Grass cutting, strimming, sweeping, maintenance and inspection of various plants, parks and open spaces with a basic knowledge of horticultural operations. You will also be responsible for carrying out plant and machinery inspections completing a pro forma, prior to use and report any defects, areas of concern or issues within the workplace. You will be monitoring and reporting on the tractor operational hours to identify service and maintenance intervals and advising inexperienced team members of good horticultural practices and correct use of machinery and personal protective equipment (PPE) that is issued. Full training and uniform will be provided. Skills: You need to: 1.	Hold City and Guilds NPTC Level 2 Certificate of Competence Tractor or equivalent. 2.	Hold a full driving licence. 3.	Have knowledge of horticultural operations and be experienced in the use of large and small Horticultural/Agricultural machinery including front loader operation. 4.
