The Post

The Person
We are looking for someone with a good understanding of Local Authority housing issues and an ability to think and act strategically, contributing to long-term planning and supporting improvement strategies and opportunities. &nbsp;Experience in building and maintaining constructive relationships with various partners and influencing them to achieve shared goals. You will also need skills to effectively manage projects, ensuring timely delivery and risk mitigation. You must have excellent communication skills, with the ability to challenge constructively and influence stakeholders while working collaboratively, be a problem solver and resilient. &nbsp; CIH Level qualification is required or willingness to undertake the course, &nbsp;provided by the council.&nbsp;

The Post - Community Development and Engagement Officer&nbsp;
Are you passionate about empowering communities and making a real difference in people’s lives? Brent Council is looking for a dynamic and motivated&nbsp;Community Development and Engagement Officer&nbsp;to join our Housing Community Engagement team.
In this exciting role, you’ll lead and support a wide range of community engagement and consultation initiatives across one of London’s most diverse boroughs. From organising&nbsp;Brent Housing Events&nbsp;to promoting resident participation through the&nbsp;our platforms and visiting resident associations assisting them in the community, hosting panels, consultations and mystery shopping &nbsp;you’ll be at the heart of shaping how we connect with our communities.
Key Responsibilities include to:
<ul>
<li>Deliver inclusive and high-quality engagement activities across the borough.</li>
<li>Organise and manage community events, including logistics and promotion.</li>
<li>Support and guide council teams in delivering meaningful consultations.</li>
<li>Promote and monitor participation in council grant programmes and monitor social value&nbsp;</li>
<li>Act as a key liaison with community groups and voluntary organisations.</li>
<li>Collect and analyse data to showcase the impact of engagement work.</li>
</ul>
The Person
We are looking for someone with proven experience in community engagement, outreach, or public consultation. You will have the ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends and strong organisational and communication skills. You will also be a collaborative team player with a passion for diversity and inclusion and be confident in using digital tools and platforms like Microsoft Office and MS Teams.

 12 months Fixed-Term contract Ref:&nbsp; H328 An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Debit Control Officer in our busy Rent and Income team for a forward thinking, highly organised and dynamic individual. You will play a crucial role in ensuring financial stability for the council. &nbsp;We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Debit Control Officer to join our busy Rent and Income&nbsp;team. Your main duties will be to provide an excellent customer focussed service to recover arrears for garage rents, former tenants and recharge repairs. This will involve contacting clients by letter, phone, text and email. You will control rent debit by putting in place all necessary processes and administration to ensure payments are met in a structured manner and maintain all rent accounts and tenancy records on the housing management system. You will work supportively and proactively with colleagues, other sections and departments as necessary to ensure a high service delivery standard. &nbsp;You will need excellent negotiation and investigative skills and be able to deal with people sympathetically, sensitively and firmly and be capable of forming effective working relationships. You will be well organised, IT literate and able to work well under pressure in order to solve problems. &nbsp;A good knowledge of recording detailed client information is essential and previous experience in a customer focused environment, would be an advantage.&nbsp; An Enhanced check will be undertaken with the Disclosure and Barring Service to ensure that the successful candidate has no relevant convictions.
