    About the Team

The Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) is an element of research infrastructure funding from the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and is based within local government. Lambeth HDRC was developed in partnership with King's College London and Black Thrive. Our purpose is to help Lambeth become more research-active, generate and use evidence more effectively, and build the skills, partnerships and infrastructure needed to improve decision-making and reduce health inequalities.

A key part of this work is our growing programme of learning, training and events. This includes staff development activities, community research training, expert speaker events, knowledge exchange activities, public events and opportunities for people across Lambeth to build confidence in using evidence and research in their work.

    About the Role:

The Learning and Events Coordinator will play a key role in delivering Lambeth HDRC's programme of learning, training and events activities. Working with colleagues, academic partners, community organisations and residents, you will coordinate and help deliver a varied programme of workshops, speaker events, webinars, public talks and community learning activities designed to strengthen the use of research and evidence across Lambeth.

You will support all aspects of delivery, including programme planning, coordinating contributors and providers, event logistics, communications, participant engagement and evaluation. You will also help develop learning resources and promotional materials, ensuring activities are engaging, accessible and effectively promoted through a range of digital and communications channels.

This role would suit someone who is highly organised, enjoys coordinating projects and events, and is confident working across different platforms and channels to engage audiences. We are looking for someone who combines strong organisational skills with creativity, digital confidence and excellent communication skills.

We would welcome applicants with an interest in research, health inequalities and improving public services, although subject matter expertise is not essential. You will work alongside researchers, policy specialists and community partners who bring expertise in these areas.

To be considered for interview, your CV and supporting statement will clearly evidence:

    • Experience coordinating training, learning programmes, events or engagement activities involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

    • Strong organisational and project coordination skills, including the ability to manage schedules, logistics, contributors and delivery processes.

    • Experience producing engaging written, visual or digital materials and communicating information effectively for different audiences.

    • Experience supporting dissemination, communication or engagement activity, including the use of digital tools or platforms.

    • The ability to build effective working relationships and collaborate with colleagues, partners, communities and external providers to support successful delivery.

    How to Apply:

To be considered for interview, your CV and supporting statement will clearly evidence how you meet the shortlisting criteria on the personal specification marked “A” for application:
