What’s the role?
Housing Services Directorate is looking to appoint an Accommodation Assessment &amp; Lettings Team Leader to manage a team of six Accommodation Assessment &amp; Lettings Officers responsible for offering suitable accommodation under S188 and S193 duties. Successful management of this service area will ensure we deliver a high quality, customer-focused approach to our applicants eligible for homelessness assistance and continuous improvement and efficiency in the service delivery. In addition, you will ensure officers complete S208, enforce offer of suitable accommodation, correctly undertake the discharge of duty and complete all other tasks relevant to their role.

What we’re looking for
We are seeking an experienced Accommodation Assessment &amp; Lettings Team Leader with a good working knowledge of managing a team responsible for offering accommodation under S188 and S193, Part 6 &amp; 7 of the Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Act 2002 and Localism Act 2011 and its application. You must have knowledge and understanding of the activities, functions and processes involved in offering suitable accommodation under S188 and S193 as well as issuing discharge of duty decisions.

The Council’s Street Care service is responsible for the cleanliness of the whole borough and undertake a range of street cleaning and street care activities to ensure that public spaces across the Borough are maintained to a high environmental quality and so that the Council operates in accordance with code of practice on litter and refuse, thereby helping to provide an attractive and diverse environment, where people feel safe and secure.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to play a key role in helping us achieve improved national standards of cleanliness. Working primarily as part of the Hit-Squad, the successful applicant will be sweeping, cleansing and removing litter / fly-tips / graffiti from the highways, trunk roads (A12) and public areas.
Based at our Freighter House depot in Springfield, the post holder would normally be expected to work the following hours: Monday to Thursday 07:30am – 15:30pm Friday 07:30am to 15:00pmIt should be noted however that some flexibility will be required, including earlier or later starts on occasions.
The successful candidate will be expected to work 37 hours per week and a current full UK driving licence is essential.

The Green Infrastructure Team’s portfolio includes work on Nature/Biodiversity/Rewilding, Trees &amp; Woodlands and Green Spaces &amp; Urban Greening, plus cross-cutting issues, such as data &amp; evidence, strategy &amp; planning, green finance and more. You will support cross-cutting programme management, as well as support individual projects and programmes across the team. To succeed in the role, you’ll need to be collaborative, flexible and willing to learn across a wide portfolio. You’ll need to have strong abilities in project or programme support and coordination. While policy or technical expertise in a green infrastructure topic area would be helpful, it is not necessary for someone who can learn quickly. <h2>About the role</h2>
The ICS is looking for to appoint a Senior Technical Officer to deliver projects and programmes that respond to the Mayor’s priorities for water supply, wastewater and flood risk, including recommendations outlined in the London Climate Resilience Review.
The role is focused on convening partners to deliver long term infrastructure plans for the water sector, including integrated water management strategies and progressing wider climate resilience and growth priorities, working with stakeholders such as Environment Agency, Thames Water and London boroughs. In addition, the role will support policy development for the London Plan and contribute towards the London Infrastructure Framework, which are both in development currently.

<h2>Skills, knowledge and experience</h2>
To be considered for the role you must meet the following essential criteria:
<ol>
<li>A track record of managing complex projects/processes and project resources successfully, delivering results on target and within budget, and refining processes over time.</li>
</ol>
<ol>
<li>Excellent written and oral skills and a track record of successful stakeholder communications, including producing effective visuals.</li>
</ol>
<ol>
<li>Ability to use a range of office and data-related software and digital tools, to an advanced level.</li>
</ol>
<ol>
<li>&nbsp;Degree or work experience in a utilities field and /or land use and infrastructure planning (preference for planners, architects, or civil engineers).</li>
</ol>
<ol>
<li>Ideally, experience in the field of infrastructure policy/projects and familiarity with the GLA’s priorities/initiatives in this space.</li>

<h2>Benefits</h2>
GLA staff are hybrid working up to 3 days a week in our offices and remotely depending on their role. As part of this, you will need to split your time between home working and coming into the office.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, is reappointing his cohort of Mayor’s Design Advocates.
The Mayor of London is seeking independent built environment experts to join the Mayor’s Design Advocates (MDAs) cohort. MDAs play a crucial role in supporting the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.london.gov.uk/programmes-strategies/shaping-local-places/advice-and-guidance/about-good-growth-design" target="_blank">Good Growth by Design (GGbD) programme</a>, influencing Mayoral decisions, steering policies and advocating for high-quality, sustainable development across London.
Good Growth is the Mayor’s guiding principle for the built environment and sets the direction of the London Plan and all related Mayoral decisions, investments, strategies and policies. Good Growth acknowledges that Londoners will not accept growth at any cost. Growth of our built environment must be socially and economically inclusive, physically accessible and environmentally sustainable.
The programme draws together and promotes efforts being made across the Greater London Authority Group to support quality and inclusion in the built environment. With the support of the Mayor’s Design Advocates, it has had major successes: setting standards for excellence, extending the practice of design review, and supporting cross-industry action to make the built environment sector more diverse and representative. This programme is calling upon the architecture, design, planning, built environment and sustainability sectors to support Good Growth in London.
