We are looking for a passionate and experienced Strategy, Policy and Insight manager to join the team at Guildford and Waverley Borough Councils. In this role you will act as the lead officer on strategy and policy, insight and intelligence, integrated service planning, performance and risk management. About the role:
Horsham District Council is looking for a Neighbourhood Warden to work in the parishes of Steyning, Bramber and Upper Beeding.
A Neighbourhood Warden is an exciting and varied role which will see you working alongside other HDC staff, Sussex Police, the Parish Councils, local voluntary sector organisations and other agencies to find solutions for a range of community issues and improve the quality of life for local residents through engagement, promotion and support. Working as part of a small team, within the Council’s Communities department, the role involves tackling the fear of crime, encouraging a sense of shared ownership and responsibility, and responding to the needs of local residents through development of local projects and signposting to existing services, whilst providing a uniformed, reassuring, patrolling presence with the ability to use enforcement measures as necessary.
Working a shift rota to provide a service at peak times, the job will entail working some evenings and weekends, adaptable working arrangements may be possible. It should be noted that the post involves foot patrol outside in all weathers.
You will join an existing Neighbourhood Warden in the parish.
Neighbourhood Wardens are employed by HDC but funded through the Parish Councils and the Council has a three year partnership agreement with parishes who have adopted the scheme. The current agreement expires in March 2028 and may be renewed after this date, subject to further Parish Council funding.
About you:
To succeed as a Neighbourhood Warden, you will be a good communicator, solution focused, confident, enthusiastic and come with a genuine commitment to identifying and developing mechanisms for improving quality of life for all residents.
You will be educated to A-Level standard (or equivalent) and have previous experience of working with the members of the public. You will receive training in subject areas including Warden Core Skills, ASB Powers, Personal Safety, First Aid, Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) and other job-related skills. You should possess a full and current UK driving licence.

Assisting the Head of Legal and Democratic Services, you will provide an efficient and economic legal service to the council in all matters pertaining to property law and practice. The Role: Make Magic Happen in Public Spaces
You will be the first point of contact for traders and customers, providing high-quality service and resolving issues with a calm and confident approach. This dynamic role involves being out on the market for 80% of your trading day, monitoring activities, checking licenses, and ensuring adherence to regulations. You'll play a vital part in:
- Supporting Traders:&nbsp;Assisting with stall setup and breakdown, and building positive relationships with license holders.
- Ensuring Compliance:&nbsp;Carrying out regular checks on stall sizes, commodities, and licenses, and advising traders on their responsibilities. You'll&nbsp; also identify and report any breaches, supporting enforcement action.
- Promoting Growth:&nbsp;Supporting income-generating activities and identifying new trading opportunities and businesses.
- Maintaining Standards:&nbsp;Reporting defects, ensuring market cleanliness, and managing public highway obstructions.
- Community Engagement:&nbsp;Being visible and accessible to the public, dealing with inquiries and complaints, and fostering strong community relations.
- Operational Excellence:&nbsp;Handling daily administrative tasks, processing payments, and supporting debt recovery.
This role involves a varied shift pattern, including mandatory weekend working (every Saturday and/or Sunday) and occasional late nights and public holidays.

You will be responsible for:
- Producing scheduled and live material for our current social media platforms, as well as exploring new avenues and methods to establish connections with viewers.
- Staying up-to-date with the latest social media trends and digital technologies
- Developing monthly reports on emerging social media trends that will be submitted to the management and executive teams
- Developing social media strategies with the aim of increasing brand awareness and customer engagement and growing both online followers and driving physical footfall into commercial sites.
- Analysing the long-term needs of the company’s social media strategy and offering quarterly reports to the management and executive teams, outlining any necessary changes to the overall digital marketing plan
- Creating captivating content for an organisation’s social media sites, which may include writing blogs, articles, posts and multimedia content
- Monitoring and responding to customer feedback, comments and social media posts
- Developing and overseeing competitions and campaigns to draw attention to our commercial brands and trading sites.
- Setting measurable goals for campaigns, measuring and showing the Return on Investment (ROI)
- Creation of the bi monthly newsletter to communicate updates with our traders, other Council services and ward members.
The role is a full time position which includes weekend work as mandatory to capture live feeds and communication in all our markets.
You must have experience of managing multiple social media accounts and able to create digital content to promote the small businesses across all our Markets and Street trading sites. You should be able to use your own initiative and love putting your organisational and creative skills to good use. You will need to be articulate, with sound written and verbal communications. Above all, you need a ‘can do’ attitude and a desire to deliver exceptional customer service.
