About the Role

Our Housing Team is a busy, thriving team which is constantly working towards creating a community free of homelessness. We provide advice, information and assistance on all housing issues within the Borough. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic housing professional to become part of the team.
You will provide housing-related support to clients who are at risk of homelessness and who are considered to require such support to manage their tenancy and maintain their ability to live independently in the community, including initial resettlement for people taking up new tenancies. You will have housing-related experience and some knowledge of homelessness legislation. An ability to interpret and communicate complex information is essential as is being an adaptable, sympathetic and organised individual. You will also have an understanding of the needs of clients with mental health problems, complex needs, learning disabilities, substance misuse and/or vulnerable people.

What you’ll be doing
As an Infrastructure Analyst, you’ll ensure the stable, secure and high‑performing operation of our infrastructure - across networks, servers (physical and virtual), data communications and telecommunications - while providing expert 2nd line support to colleagues across the Council, keeping vital services running.
You’ll test performance, produce practical insights and documentation, plan and deploy security controls, and help ensure compliance with PSN and our Information Security policy. You’ll also contribute to strategic planning with the Infrastructure &amp; Service Desk Manager and support procurement activity (tenders, contracts and vendor engagement). When required, you’ll act as a lead consultant on specific projects.
What you’ll bring
<ul>
<li>Strong knowledge of infrastructure concepts, protocols and standards, with hands‑on experience across enterprise networks (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN) and security‑embedded design</li>
<li>Proven ability to administer and support: Microsoft 365, Exchange, SQL, Active Directory, SAN, Hypervisors, Azure/AWS, Arcserve</li>
<li>Practical troubleshooting of servers, routers, switches, NICs, etc., plus clear written documentation skills</li>
<li>Helpful knowledge of Citrix, mobile technology, telephony, VoIP, UNIX/Linux, Windows scripting, and cloud services</li>
<li>Proven ability to successfully deliver infrastructure-related projects</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Excellent communication - able to translate complex technical issues for non‑technical audiences</li>
</ul>
Essential qualifications and experience include:

<li>Degree level or relevant experience</li>
<li>MCSE / MCSA accreditation or relevant experience</li>

Joint Waste Solutions Assistant Monitoring Officer (West)
Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity tackling environmental issues?
This role will help support the management of the joint waste collection and street cleansing contract, driving service improvements and helping residents to understand the recycling service, overcoming any issues they may experience and avoid contaminating their recycling.
At Joint Waste Solutions (JWS), there is an East operations team, managing the services in Elmbridge and Mole Valley and a West operations team who manage services for Surrey Heath and Woking Borough Councils.
In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety of the public by checking the service providers’ staff are complying with the safe systems of work and by conducting crew checks. While ensuring civic pride through monitoring street cleaning, reporting defective levels of cleanliness, and following up to ensure the issue has been rectified.&nbsp;&nbsp;
The successful candidate will have experience of monitoring contracts and using performance management systems as well as experience of providing a good standard of customer care. An understanding of environmental issues as well as a knowledge of health and safety legislation is beneficial but not essential. You’ll need excellent verbal and written communications skills, be able to get involved in a range of projects and deliver them to deadline, as well as a methodological approach to information gathering, recording and reporting.
This vacancy with the West Operations team (Surrey Heath and Woking) is a permanent, part-time position of 22 hours with flexibility to fulfil these hours across the working week.

At Woking we are transforming and improving our services and are recruiting for a new role within the Housing Asset Management Department of Housing Contracts and Compliance Manager covering Mechanical and Electrical workstreams.
This role will be critical in delivering high quality contract management to mitigate risk to the Council, Council residents and members of the public by ensuring the effective delivery of all Housing Mechanical and Electrical &nbsp;related Contracts and Polices working in conjunction with the associated Regulatory Framework and Consumer Standards.
