We are seeking a Psychotherapists or Counsellor to join the HealthyWay Plus team. You will be required to contribute and deliver an evidence-based weight management programme to improve health and wellbeing in Medway by supporting the achievement of local and national strategies relating to Public Health. Due to the nature of the role, it is important that the post holder remains open to new ideas and perspectives that align to Public Health KPIs and key messages. The post holder must have a minimum of one year’s experience in psychotherapeutic work in a weight management setting ideally including groups. They should stay up to date with developments in psychological and group therapy for obesity treatment. The successful candidate is required to abide by the Ethical Framework for Good Practise in Counselling and Psychotherapy (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) or equivalent in addition to having own professional indemnity insurance.Additionally, the role will include administrative support relating to the courses the post holder runs. This includes collecting accurate data and sending emails to client, health care professionals and wider Public Health teamsThis post is a casual position, and hours will be available as and when required.The successful post holder will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. This is the entry point of the role, so you will need to be able to demonstrate the relevant knowledge, experience and skills to get you started, but you will be supported to develop in your role through induction, probation and a supportive Performance Appraisal and Career Conversation. All elements of level A listed within the person specification are essential. Through your induction you will be introduced to the Career Progression Framework (CPF), which will help you to identify your areas of strength and any development needs.
