The Role
As a Venue Technician, you’ll be an essential part of Platform team, supporting a variety of events, including, live music, conferences, and community activities at our venues. This exciting position is contracted to 18 hours per week, with the opportunity for overtime subject to business needs at both The Platform and our portfolio of other venues and event spaces.
Your role will involve setting up, operating, and maintaining sound, lighting, and AV equipment, ensuring all technical aspects run smoothly and safely.
You’ll work closely with visiting companies and performers to meet their specific requirements, assist with stage management and equipment logistics, and help maintain the venue’s high standards.
The post requires good communication skills, and a strong commitment to health and safety. If you enjoy a hands-on role in a busy venue environment and want to be part of delivering great events, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
This is a permenant role wokring 18 hours per week over two days, including bank holidays evenings and weekends. This post is based at the Platform Morcambe.

Facilities Assistant

Chelmsford City Council are looking for a proactive and dedicated individual to join our Facilities Management Team as a Civic Porter. In this important role, the post holder will help keep the Civic Centre running smoothly by carrying out a range of tasks. These include receiving and sorting post, helping with minor maintenance, setting up furniture in rooms,&nbsp;keeping outdoor areas clean, and helping ensure the building and our users stays safe and secure.
This position will be worked on a three week shift rota covering the hours between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., Monday to Friday and will work an average of 37 hours per week.
We’re looking for someone who has some experience with basic maintenance and is comfortable using a computer for simple tasks. The successful applicant will be well-organised and follow safe working practices.
This role is based mostly at the Civic Centre Offices in Chelmsford, but it may be required to travel to sites within the district.
Please be aware that porters may be required to be ‘on call’ outside of the normal hours of service, on a rota basis to cover overnight and weekend call outs. The post holder should be able to attend the Civic Centre site within 30 minutes.
