Assessment EHC Officer

We are currently recruiting for a Health Improvement Co-ordinator (Stop Smoking) to work within our Stop Smoking Service; this opportunity is currently being offered as a zero-hour contract. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team, with high-profile activity! This is a zero-hours position to cover evening and weekend clinics.The post holder will be required to offer specialist support to smokers wanting to quit smoking through the one-to-one service currently offered to people living or working in Medway. The Health Improvement Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating each individual quit attempt, providing behavioural support, with practical advice, social support and pharmacotherapy advice. Strategically planning support sessions for each client and working to increase their motivation are essential components of supporting a successful quit attempt and so form a crucial part of the adviser role. The post holder must be able to collect, record and maintain accurate data in line with national guidance. It is vital that the post holder is an excellent team player and is flexible to be able to cover team member’s clinics on occasions such as annual leave or sickness absence. This role will require the post holder to be able to work regular evenings each week (generally no later than 8pm) and on weekends, according to the service needs. The ability to drive and own a car is essential. You may be required to deliver smoking cessation support in a number of settings including GP surgeries, community settings and workplaces. Located in Sittingbourne, our detached family home is the first of four brand new children’s homes across Kent. This is an exciting opportunity to open and operate our first brand new children’s home supported by the county council with track record of opening and operating children’s care homes across the county. The Sittingbourne home is being refurbished to high standards to look after up to two children, aged from eight years old up to eighteen. Our two children who will live at the home will primarily present with social and emotional needs, may have learning disabilities or Autism. You will lead a staff team to ensure we achieve the most nurturing and supportive environment possible for the young person, promoting independence as much as possible, and working in a child focused way - with support tailored to the needs of each individual child/young person.There will also be service support from an allocated behavioural practitioner who will work with the young person and team. This work with the young person and team will be focused on supporting the journey with us, from pre-placement planning, through to living at the service, and post service transition to enable continuity and sustainability for the young person.We anticipate that the average length of stay will be between 8 to 12 months, and we will be operating under the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015. About the Role
Are you an experienced engineering professional with strong leadership skills?
We are looking for an Engineering Works Supervisor to join our Engineering Maintenance team. We are seeking an experienced Housing Compliance Surveyor – Fire Safety to join our compliance team. This is a vital role ensuring that Dartford Borough Council’s housing stock meets all fire safety regulations and standards, keeping our residents safe and our properties compliant. As a landlord we currently have responsibility for buildings up to 11m in height, with no dwellings above this height. Compliance Surveyor – Fire Safety and Risk Assessments

We’re looking for an experienced Principal Asset Manager to help us optimise Enfield’s diverse commercial estate and support the delivery of excellent services for our residents. 
You’ll play a key role in managing and maximising income from a substantial commercial portfolio (part of a wider non-housing portfolio of over 1,100 assets, including c.625 commercial properties and a commercial investment portfolio currently generating around £8m p.a.). 
Reporting to the Head of Estates, you’ll lead on complex commercial asset management work, provide expert professional advice, and help shape and implement our Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP) and Commercial Asset Strategy. 
About the role 
As Principal Asset Manager you will: 
 
 - Proactively manage a defined commercial asset portfolio (e.g. retail, industrial, rural or mixed-use), ensuring it is fully occupied, well-balanced and delivering optimal return. 
 - Lead and manage a wide range of commercial property transactions, including lettings, lease renewals, rent reviews, service charges, landlord consents, dilapidations, breaches of covenant and income/debt management. 
 - Identify opportunities to increase income, reduce voids and manage risk, ensuring full market rent is achieved wherever appropriate. 
 - Support and challenge colleagues to develop innovative approaches to the use and optimisation of assets, including re-purposing assets and creating new income streams. 
 - Work closely with the Head of Estates and Head of Disposals on option appraisals, disposals, acquisitions, development agreements and joint ventures, including business plans for vacant, surplus and retained assets. 
 - Contribute to annual asset valuations and ensure compliance with RICS and CIPFA guidance, working closely with Finance on capital accounting requirements. 
 - Provide specialist property advice to senior officers and Members, and support major regeneration and development schemes in the borough. 
 - Represent the Head of Estates and deputise when required, including attending internal and external meetings, committees and partnerships.

About you 
We’re looking for someone who can combine strong technical expertise with confident leadership and excellent stakeholder skills. 
You will have: 
 
 - Extensive experience in asset/estate management and commercial/public sector surveying, including valuations, acquisitions and disposals, rent reviews, lease renewals, ratings, compensation and estate management across a diverse commercial or mixed-use portfolio. 
 - A proven track record of managing large commercial/investment portfolios to generate growth, maximise income and realise commercial potential. 
 - Experience of successfully delivering projects and programmes to time and budget, managing competing demands and external consultants where required. 
 - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – able to interpret complex data, see the bigger picture and make informed decisions. 
 - Excellent negotiation, influencing, report-writing and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex property issues clearly to a range of audiences, including senior officers, Members, partners and tenants. 
 - A good understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Local Government Act, Landlord and Tenant Act, Health &amp; Safety legislation) and sound commercial and financial acumen. 
 - The ability to engage, coach and motivate others, setting clear expectations and providing constructive feedback. 
 - Experience of working collaboratively across services and with external partners, and an understanding of the political context and role of elected Members. 
 
Qualifications 
 
 - Member or Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS or FRICS) with several years’ post-qualification experience. 
 - A relevant RICS-approved property-related degree or equivalent professional qualification. 
 - A clean uk driving licence and access to a vehicle (or suitable alternative travel arrangements) for site visits.
