About the Role - As a Systems Support Officer, you will play a crucial role in administrating the HR and Payroll systems and associated processes. You will take an active role in the workplace to share ideas, develop best practice and help build, test and maintain HR and Payroll Systems.
Duties will include:
Create detailed schedules of payroll, year-end processes and system downtime, including communications.
Carry out all aspects of payroll processing, year-end, balancing, controls, checks and any corrective action.
Data management and interfaces (e.g. feeder system uploads, financial system extracts, HMRC, pension funds), production and distribution of reports and returns including required checks and reconciliation.
Build, maintain and test HR/Payroll systems to ensure they are up to date, compliant and meet business needs.
Produce system documentation, user guides and provide support for training as required.
Maintain system security authorisation and data protection.
Deal with change requests as required.
Deal with queries and liaise with internal teams, customers and external bodies as required, e.g. HMRC.
Keep the Business Support Manager and key stakeholders informed on work progress particularly where there are deadlines to be met or an impact on the availability or accuracy of the system.
What We’re Looking For
A strong eye for detail and organisational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
An understanding of working with complex technical systems (for example the HR and Payroll system iTrent).
Knowledge of HR and Payroll processes and statutory compliance.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and process enhancement.
Flexibility, when required, to complete tasks in accordance with strict schedules and critical deadlines.
