Main duties will include:

Ancora House School provides education to in-patients admitted to Ancora House, the regional adolescent psychiatric unit in Chester. <li>assist in maintaining of a positive and consistent classroom behaviour strategies through the implementation of the school’s behaviour management strategies</li>
<li>provide support to pupils to achieve learning goals e.g. leading small group activities and phonic sessions, including for those with additional needs.</li>
<li>supervise pupils for a particular curriculum activity under the guidance of a qualified teacher</li>
<li>assist the teacher with the planning and resourcing of learning activities</li>
<li>assist with the day-to-day routines of a classroom</li>
<li>assist the teacher in monitoring pupils’ responses to learning activities and accurately record achievement/progress as directed.</li>

As Trust English Lead, you will bring these values to life through your leadership of English across our family of schools.
This is a trust-wide leadership post, responsible for:
Designing and leading a high-quality, inclusive English curriculum across key stages.
Conducting deep dives, work scrutiny, and lesson visits in preparation for Ofsted inspections.
Delivering bespoke CPD and coaching to support excellence in teaching and learning.
Monitoring performance data and pupil outcomes to inform strategy and improvement.
Acting as a key figure in the new School Improvement Team, working to the trust’s Director of Education
We’re looking for a credible, passionate and reflective&nbsp;subject expert&nbsp;who can lead both&nbsp;strategically and operationally. You will:

<li>Be an outstanding English teacher with a deep understanding of curriculum, assessment and pedagogy.</li>
<li>Have experience raising standards through quality assurance and middle or senior leadership.</li>
<li>Be confident in interpreting the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework and leading school readiness work.</li>
<li>Be highly skilled in CPD design, delivery and staff coaching.</li>
<li>Share and model our core values in every interaction.</li>

To lead the strategic development, delivery, and continual improvement of the English curriculum across The YES Trust. The postholder will ensure high-quality teaching, curriculum innovation, and compliance with national expectations, including deep engagement with the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework. They will also lead the delivery of CPD, monitor quality, and provide expert support to improve educational outcomes in English.
Key Responsibilities

<li>Curriculum Leadership and Development</li>
</ol>

<li>Lead the design and continual improvement of the English curriculum from KS2 through to KS4 for YES Connected.</li>
<li>Facilitate curriculum mapping, moderation, and cross-trust alignment.</li>
</ul>
<ol>
<li>Quality Assurance and Ofsted Readiness</li>
</ol>
<ul>
<li>Lead deep dives into English provision across the Trust in line with the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework.</li>
<li>Review lesson delivery, pupil work, and feedback to ensure consistency and excellence.</li>
<li>Support schools in preparing for Ofsted with evidence-based reviews and coaching.</li>
</ul>
<ol>
<li>Teaching &amp; Learning</li>
</ol>
<ul>
<li>Model exemplary English teaching and Team Teach where needed.</li>
<li>Promote evidence-informed pedagogical approaches aligned with the Trust’s teaching methodology.</li>
<li>Grow the trust’s capacity for specialist outstanding practitioners</li>
<li>Support in the teaching and/or delivery of online lessons for YES Connected.</li>
<li>Support in the teaching of English in trust schools as required.</li>
<li>Ensure assessment practices support pupil progress.</li>
</ul>

<li>Staff Development and CPD</li>
</ol>
<ul>
<li>Design and deliver a CPD programme in English for Trust staff.</li>
<li>Lead INSET days, twilights, and ongoing coaching/mentoring.</li>
<li>Support ECTs and aspiring leaders with development opportunities.</li>
</ul>

<li>Data, Monitoring, and Impact</li>
</ol>
<ul>
<li>Analyse data to identify trends and support schools in raising attainment.</li>
<li>Use data to inform Trust-wide English improvement planning.</li>
<li>Report regularly to the Director of Education on initiative impact.</li>
<li>Provide the Director of Education with summary reports for the schools’ Education Review Board meeting and attend as required.</li>

<li>Develop and Lead on the English Curriculum Network group across the trust.</li>

<li>Work collaboratively with ECTs, English leads, SEND leads, and SLT.</li>
