We are looking for a positive and enthusiastic individual to lead on reviewing and embedding a new Tenant Engagement Strategy to ensure tenants voices are heard and their views are at the heart of decision making. to
Reporting directly to the Head of Housing, your objectives will be:-

<li>To develop and embed our Tenant Engagement Strategy, implementing a range of methods for engagement and influence that are multi-channel, accessible and effective in reaching a wide tenant-base with varying levels of digital skills and contact preferences.</li>
<li>
Develop and Deliver Engagement Activities: Plan and implement a range of engagement initiatives, including surveys, focus groups, and community events, to gather tenant feedback and promote involvement.</li>
<li>To lead on the recruitment of tenants to the Tenant Engagement Group to support the delivery of the Tenant Engagement Strategy.</li>
<li>
Facilitate Tenant Engagement Group Meetings: Organise, lead, and support regular meetings with the Tenant Engagement Group, ensuring inclusive participation and follow-through on agreed actions.</li>
<li>To ensure the Councils' regulatory obligations under the White Paper for Social Housing are met and to ensure compliance with current and future legislative changes.</li>
<li>To be a Champion for Tenant Engagement across all service areas.</li>
</ul>
A knowledge of housing related issues is essential for this role. To succeed in this role you will need an outgoing personality, ability to work on your own initiative and to positively engage with tenants and stakeholders.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Mechanic to join our Fleet Services team at the Merlin Way depot in Ilkeston. You will play a key role in maintaining and repairing our municipal fleet - from refuse collection vehicles to road sweepers - ensuring essential services are delivered safely and reliably across the borough.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
<ul>
<li>Preparing vehicles for MOT, servicing, and repairs across our HGV vehicles such as refuse collection vehicles, road sweepers and light to medium sized commercial vehicles</li>
<li>Diagnosing faults and carrying out timely workshop repairs</li>
<li>Attending breakdowns and resolving issues roadside when possible</li>
<li>Undertaking repairs, maintenance and servicing to agricultural vehicles, plant and equipment including mowers - training can be provided</li>
<li>Participating in an out-of-hours standby service on a rota basis when the fleet is operational outside normal working hours and at weekends - an additional stand-by allowance is payable when on-call</li>
</ul>
A clean driving licence with HGV Category C is desirable for road testing, but we will support you in gaining this licence if needed.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who:
<ul>
<li>Has a clean driving licence (category B minimum, we will provide training for category C licence)</li>
<li>Has hands-on experience with maintenance and repair of petrol and diesel engine vehicles and working with HGV municipal vehicles such as refuse collection vehicles and road sweepers&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Works well independently and as part of a team</li>
<li>Brings a positive, can-do attitude to every challenge</li>
<li>Is flexible, reliable, and committed to high standards</li>
<li>Has achieved a City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 (Light/Heavy Vehicle Maintenance) or has demonstrable equivalent work experience in a similar role</li>

The role of Rents Officer forms part of a wider Rents Team which delivers an effective rent collection and recovery service across the High Peak in accordance with legislation, the Council’s policies and procedures, and performance targets.&nbsp; The role involves managing the rent collection of current and former tenancies, within a geographical patch of properties,
The successful candidate will have a housing background and previous rent recovery experience ideally within a local authority setting. &nbsp;They will be able to prioritise own workload, identify and escalate cases for action, and proactively negotiate repayment plans with tenants in arrears.&nbsp; They will handle rent account queries, carry out office interviews and home visits to tenanted properties to chase payment and prevent arrears, serve Notice Seeking Possessions, represent the Alliance at court hearings, and carry out evictions. They will ensure customers receive appropriate advice and guidance regarding benefits and welfare entitlements to maximise their potential income, making appropriate referrals where identified.
