Our customers are our libraries and their local communities.</p><p>The Assistant Customer Service Supervisor role supports the Stock Services Manager and Libraries Facilities Officer in supervising the Stock Services, Library Drivers and Distribution teams, ensuring the efficient running of day-to-day service delivery.</p><h4>About the role</h4><p>You will have the skills and abilities to support the Stock Services Manager and Facilities Support Officer to actively supervise the Stock Services, Library Driver and Distribution teams at Central Stocks Unit, including appraisals, training and development. You will act as the senior on duty as required.</p><p>You will be the point of contact in providing the inter-library loans and SELMS service for all public libraries in Hertfordshire. With an eye for detail, you will carry out a range of administrative tasks, liaising with partners to meet customer requests.</p><p>You will supervise the delivery of the day-to-day functions of our Stock Services, Library Driver and Distribution teams, including liaising with libraries regarding stock delivery changes as needed.</p><p>You will also work on maintaining the Library Management System database and the management of the county reserve stock. </p><p>This role deals with processing of new stock deliveries daily and as such it will require you to have an awareness of manual handling practises with the ability to apply these in your work. </p><h4>About you</h4><p><strong>Essential:</strong></p><ul>\n<li>You will have excellent communication and admin skills and experience of providing good customer care.</li>\n<li>You are a great team worker, with the ability to lead and motivate a small team of staff.</li>\n<li>You will be proactive in dealing consistently and fairly with staffing matters at an appropriate level.</li>\n<li>You will have excellent time management and organisational skills, being able to balance administrative workloads alongside supervisory responsibilities in a methodical manner.</li>\n<li>You will be a confident user of IT, including Word and Excel to collate and present data.</li>\n<li>You will have a flexible and positive approach to the workplace.</li>\n</ul><p>This Assistant Customer Service Supervisor role offers successful applicants the opportunity to get involved in a variety of tasks.
