The Governors of Millbrook Primary School wish to appoint a suitably experienced person to apply for the role of Premises Officer.
This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced person to apply for the role of Premises Officer in our successful school. &nbsp;&nbsp;
You should have proven experience of work which is compatible with that of a school Premises Officer, of which the main duties include:
<ul>
<li>Day to day site management including general maintenance and cleanliness;</li>
<li>Maintaining the overall security and safety of the premises including key holding, regularly testing fire alarms and upkeeping of general health &amp; safety;</li>
<li>Assist with daily cleaning contract including ordering of necessary stock;</li>
<li>Consistently supporting the school including complying to school policy and raising any concerns where applicable.</li>
</ul>
Candidates should be:
<ul>
<li>Committed to working with the successful team ethos of Millbrook Community Primary School;</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Enthusiastic, flexible and adaptable, proactive and committed to implementing new ideas and methods where appropriate;</li>
<li>Able to work closely with the Headteacher and to maintain and improve and develop the internal and external site of the school;</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Qualified to Level 2 or equivalent in Literacy and Numeracy.</li>
</ul>

Join our team and play a vital role in ensuring the security and upkeep of our school premises. As a registered key holder, you will contribute to maintaining a safe and secure environment. Your responsibilities will include a variety of tasks, such as supporting the Premises Manager with building and grounds maintenance, ensuring cleanliness, assisting with porterage, and overseeing external contractors. You will also take part in routine maintenance, minor repairs, pre-planned maintenance programs, and refurbishment projects. This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.
This role is full-time, 10:00 – 19:00 Monday – Friday, with flexibility required dependent on business need. We are seeking to appoint as soon as possible.
What you will do:
<ul>
<li>Maintain the school buildings, including effecting minor repairs and improvements and general maintenance tasks to ensure that the school and site are maintained to a satisfactory condition that meets required standards, ensuring compliance at all times.</li>
<li>Ensure that the buildings and site are left in a secure situation when directed to open and lock-up the school site.</li>
<li>To undertake repairs and DIY projects within budgetary constraints set by the Premise Manager.</li>
<li>Operate and maintain appropriate site security systems, including opening and closing the building at the beginning and end of the school day and responding to emergency call-outs as necessary, in order to provide satisfactory security arrangements.</li>
</ul>

<li>basic training, or sound experience of general maintenance and DIY</li>
<li>awareness of the need for strict hygiene and cleaning standards</li>
<li>an understanding that the needs and safety of the pupils and staff are a priority</li>
