An exciting new opportunity has become available to join our Business Intelligence team on a one-year Undergraduate Placement. At Barnsley, we’re on a journey to become data-led to shape a bright new future for our council and our communities. You’ll help us along this journey to make sure we have the right business intelligence and drive for improvement that we need to make a success of service’s that we support.
On the placement, you will play a critical role in discovering, preparing, and analysing data to support effective decision-making for across the council. You'll also gain hands-on experience working alongside our award-winning BI team on technologies such as Power BI, GIS, and data warehousing.
We’re looking for someone who can:
·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Help identify and prepare the necessary data for analysis.
·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Support the development and implementation of data quality checks and data validation processes.
·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Work closely with other members of the project team to ensure the delivery of high-quality work.
·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Have a keen eye for detail and commitment to delivering high quality outputs.
·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Be willing to adapt and work independently but still be a critical part of the team and work closely with your colleagues to ensure our outputs support innovation and transformation.

What is the job role? We are looking for a Business Intelligence and Insights Analyst to join the Performance and Insights Team with your initial focus being on supporting Children Social Care Services working within a very busy, innovative, forward-thinking team. We are working together with Children Services to bring positive change in the lives of people in the city. &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;The BI and Insights Analyst role will be to:<ul>
<li>Take a lead on specific intelligence performance reporting and insights. &nbsp;</li>
<li>To support the council to better understand its data through enabling data linkages, modelling and visualisation. &nbsp;</li>
<li>You will work closely with relevant services to provide intelligence and insight to make decisions to improve and strengthen their performance.</li>
</ul>The role will also include working across the Planning and Informatics Team on different projects. Who are we looking for? The successful candidate will have;<ul>

BI & Insight Analyst

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Grade 5 post within our strategic commissioning service. This is a specific role within the strategic commissioning Team and relates to performance data analysis and building of performance dashboards.We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced data performance manager with excellent technical skills to join our team. The work is very varied, challenging and fast paced. You will be working with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior managers, in a bid to ensure there is a clear performance framework within the service that shows compliance and performance of contracts commissioned for the Trust.You will have:<ul> <li>Significant experience and expertise in the analysis</li> <li>Experience of deployment and building of dashboards using a wide range of tools such as Office 365, Power BI, business reporting, and data and system management. </li> <li>Excellent communication skills to deliver technical and complex analyses of performance data in a way that maximises understanding for the audience.
