<h3>Key duties and responsibilities</h3>
The post holder could be based at various sites throughout the Borough and will assist in the maintenance and cleansing of a wide range of the Council’s public places and open spaces to undertake a variety of Grounds Maintenance tasks within Brentwood’s Parks, Green Spaces and Highways including grass cutting, hedge cutting, sports pitch maintenance, litter picking. To provide cover for sickness and absence within Brentwood's Housing Maintenance and Cemeteries teams including grass cutting, hedge cutting, sports pitch maintenance, litter picking, cemeteries maintenance.
<h3>Key skills required</h3>
<ul>
<li>Current driving licence.</li>
<li>High level of flexibility, positive can-do attitude.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of sophisticated mowing equipment and handheld equipment such as strimmer’s, hedge cutters and other horticultural equipment.</li>
<li>Experience in grounds maintenance works, such as pruning weeding, planting.</li>

We’re looking for Senior Registered Building Inspectors to take on a pivotal role within our Planning &amp; Building Standards service. The GLA Transport Team is seeking an outstanding candidate to fill a vacancy left by an internal secondment. This is a part-time role of 18.5hrs and we are open to discussing how these hours are managed through the week for the suitable candidate and to meet the needs of the need. &nbsp;
Working in a busy team, you will act as a first point of contact for enquiries to the team, both internally and externally, including from senior officers and politicians, and respond promptly to requests. You must be able to cope with high volumes of emails, keep track of a large number of tasks and most importantly be able to assess and prioritise work confidently and quickly.&nbsp; You will be relied on to manage processes on behalf of the team and therefore will have outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail.&nbsp; You will have experience in a fast paced office environment and thrive under pressure. <h3>About You</h3>
You’ll be a highly experienced professional with an extensive background in M&amp;E services, specifically in the installation, maintenance, and day-to-day management of relevant systems. A clear understanding of current laws, regulations, and statutory instruments related to consumer protection and Health and Safety is essential. You’ll ideally have extensive relevant work experience or HNC in Building Services Engineering (or equivalent) or be actively working towards this qualification.
We’re looking for someone with proven staff management and contract management skills, including the ability to confidently lead technical officers, external consultants, and contractors within a performance-driven culture. You’ll have a strong grasp of budget and cost awareness, coupled with the ability to monitor and control budgets effectively and utilise complex systems.
