This role focuses primarily on grant and loan funding arrangements and subsidy control.&nbsp; While property and planning law experience is not essential, a working understanding of these areas may be advantageous. Experience in public and procurement law is also beneficial, providing valuable context to the Combined Authority’s legal landscape.

About the Role:
Wirral Borough Council is seeking to appoint an Accountant to deliver innovative, solution-focused financial management that drives value for money and supports long-term sustainability.
The role is part of the finance team that supports the place pillar, (neighbourhoods and regeneration). These are large, fast moving and diverse directorates, with a range of core services and transformational plans, aimed at improving the lives of residents and making Wirral a great place to live and work.
As part of the place finance team, you will build strong relationships and provide financial support and guidance to budget holders, to aid decision making. You will assist non finance teams with accurate and timely budget monitoring forecasting and financial processes.
Key duties of the role will include:

Our Sycamore provision is a MLD specialist, resourced base provision onsite for students with a range of additional needs who have an EHCP and require additional support to access the national curriculum and GCSEs. The resourced base allows students with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) to access mainstream education where they receive a meaningful and personalised education whilst integrating within a mainstream setting.
Students are taught their subjects by the specialist teaching staff with the support of teaching assistants. Students do also access some lessons in the main school building too, including some options subjects in Key Stage 4. The Sycamore team also support the students pastorally in form time and in PSHE. About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join and manage the Active Travel Team at the LCRCA.
Are you enthusiastic about increasing access to and participation in walking, wheeling and cycling across the Liverpool City Region? Would you like to make a real difference to how people move around the City Region, support modal shift to sustainable modes and assist with carbon reduction both now and in the future?
As the Active Travel Manager, you will manage a multi-disciplined team that undertake the development and delivery of new infrastructure, collaborating with our constituent local authorities, and funding partners such as Active Travel England. You will also manage a wide range of projects and programmes within the team’s portfolio across the Liverpool City Region with the aim of encouraging and enabling the take-up of active travel and supporting the growth of the City Region’s walking, wheeling and cycling network.
You will help deliver the Metro Mayor’s ambition for walking, wheeling and cycling becoming the preferred ways of travelling shorter distances by the people of Liverpool City Region. You will manage initiatives and projects that will make active travel easier by improving connections between our public transport hubs (like railway stations) and walking and cycling routes, and, in doing so, deliver the mayor’s vision for a London -style, integrated, transport system.
About the person
Our ideal candidate will have proven experience and a passion for active travel and sustainable transport, supported by a degree in a relevant subject. You will be able to demonstrate the skills required to manage the team and to ensure that the LCRCA can deliver on its ambitions set out in both its Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) and forthcoming Local Transport Plan 4 (LTP4).
Required skills and knowledge:
