The Business&nbsp;Support&nbsp;Officer&nbsp;will be expected to offer support across the service&nbsp;to help&nbsp;the&nbsp;Employment and&nbsp;Skills&nbsp;Service meet the contractual requirements of our funders, including&nbsp;Pathways to Work&nbsp;and&nbsp;Adult Skills Fund.&nbsp;

Your role in our journey&nbsp;&nbsp;
As a&nbsp;Business Support Officer&nbsp;for the Contract, Compliance and Funding Service you will&nbsp;be expected to deal with&nbsp;telephone and face to face enquiries providing advice, guidance,&nbsp;signposting&nbsp;and support to internal and external customers. You will also&nbsp;be required&nbsp;to&nbsp;input,&nbsp;check&nbsp;and&nbsp;maintain&nbsp;a variety of electronic and paper-based systems, ensuring information is&nbsp;accurate, fully compliant&nbsp;and stored appropriately&nbsp;
The ideal candidate/s will be organised,&nbsp;have the ability to&nbsp;manage and prioritise,&nbsp;have an eye for detail and quality&nbsp;and knowledge of&nbsp;compliance&nbsp;and be good at building and&nbsp;maintaining&nbsp;partnerships. They will understand the importance of delivering employment and skills programmes to improve local outcomes and how this links to wider policy and strategy. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Growth and Sustainability team in Barnsley Council as a Management Support Officer. This role is crucial in providing comprehensive and efficient business support predominantly to the Service Director and Heads of Service within the Regeneration and Culture team, enabling them to fulfil their roles effectively in a highly pressurised working environment. What you’ll do:
As a Management Support Officer, you will support the Service Director and Heads of Service to enable them to fulfil their role effectively in the context of a highly pressurised working environment, taking ownership of specific issues within the service, co-ordinating and monitoring milestones through to resolution. The role specifically involves email and diary management, arranging and servicing meetings i.e. minute taking and taking responsibility for following up actions or projects arising from the meeting.&nbsp;
This role requires a high level of attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and the capability to produce clear and accurate records of highly confidential and/or contentious information. Your skills in communication, problem-solving, and maintaining professional standards will be essential in ensuring the success of our team.
&nbsp;What you need:
·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Level 3 or equivalent level qualification in an applicable area.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Streetworks team, part of the council’s Highways service.&nbsp;&nbsp; We understand effectively managing activities on our highway network is key to making Barnsley an attractive place to live and do business.&nbsp; We’re looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and committed administrative support assistant to help us keep the Borough moving.
In this role you will support your colleagues in the Streetworks team by dealing with enquiries from the public, elected members and colleagues in the utilities industry.&nbsp; You’ll provide administrative support such as taking minutes, arranging meetings and managing email inboxes.&nbsp;&nbsp; You will also issue highway licences such as skips and scaffolds within agreed conditions, with the support of your colleagues.&nbsp; You will deal with financial records, ensuring they are kept up-to-date by maintaining accurate records, monitoring budgets and issuing invoices and purchase orders.&nbsp; The ability to manage your workload and work to tight deadlines is essential to ensure works are completed within allotted timeframes.
You’ll need some experience of working in an office environment, but we’ll give you full training on the specifics of the role.
You’ll be a key part of a small team, so team working and good communication skills are essential.&nbsp; The job offers hybrid working so you have the opportunity to work both in the office and at home.
