2-year contract £23,388p/a We are seeking an apprentice to join our Place Protection Team, working mainly within Licensing. The role will be an administration and enforcement role concentrating on licensing, although at times may include providing assistance and cover for other team members as appropriate. The successful candidate will work both in and out of the office administering and processing applications for licences and dealing with the maintenance of licences already issued. The role includes regular communication with applicants and licence holders face to face, in writing and over the telephone, and ensuring the accuracy of data held on our systems. The role also includes carrying out inspections of licensed premises and other businesses to ensure compliance with their licence, and associated enforcement actions. The Place Protection Team seek to continually improve the service provided, and you will be actively involved in the implementation of systems to automate and streamline, as well as related reviews of processes and procedures. You’ll get great support from experienced Licensing Officers, to help you achieve success and develop your confidence, and you’ll be working towards a Level 4 Regulatory &amp; Compliance qualification, as well as learning technical skills associated with the licensing team. This will be an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in Licensing. We are looking for an accurate, diligent, team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who has the ability to learn to use new IT systems and the desire to work in a regulatory role, to ensure that public safety and other licensing objectives are met. Overall Job Purpose:
To support the Cleansing team with the day-to-day administrative duties of the service, including maintaining stock levels, composing agendas, scheduling meetings and documenting the minutes as required.
To administer the Bulky Waste service via telephony and written communication, processing customer requests, booking appointments and handling financial transactions.
To assist with the administration of the Council’s Abandoned Vehicles service and assist with the implementation of various Cleansing Services projects, as required.

Cleansing Services Administrator

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Business Support Team Leader within our Children's Services division responsible for providing support to the service.The duties include line management of business support officers, liaising with other team leaders across the service to ensure peaks are managed, and ensuring effective administration support is provided at all times. You will also work closely with the Heads of Service to ensure work is allocated and prioritised effectively. Other duties include providing meeting support as required, maintaining financial records and undertaking project work.<h4>About you</h4><ul><li>You will hold an NVQ3 in Business Administration and have a good standard of education (minimum GCSE grade 5 or above), including Maths and English.</li><li>You will be required to work 37 hours per week (Monday-Friday). This role has been assessed as Hybrid, meaning that you will be expected to work in the office for a minimum of 3 days per week and have the option to home work on the other days.</li><li>Experience of managing a team, providing one-to-one supervision and performance reviews is essential, as well as some knowledge of managing absence, disciplinary and performance procedures.</li><li>A sound knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and their application is essential.</li></ul><h4> Career Progression Framework</h4>Career Progression Frameworks (CPF) have been introduced for all roles at Medway Council. These frameworks provide a mechanism for employees to take ownership of their development within their post and be rewarded accordingly.
