About the Role We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Corporate Support Manager to lead our Corporate Services Team and fulfil the statutory role of Data Protection Officer (DPO). This pivotal post ensures the Council’s compliance with Access to Information legislation, including the Freedom of Information Act, Environmental Information Regulations, and the Data Protection Act.
As the Corporate Support Manager, you will:

<li>Lead and manage the Council’s corporate complaints procedure, acting as an independent investigating officer.</li>
<li>Provide expert advice to senior managers and elected members on information governance and data protection.</li>
<li>Act as the Council’s single point of contact for the Information Commissioner’s Office and the Local Government Ombudsman.</li>
<li>Oversee the corporate support team providing support to the senior leadership of the council</li>

Key Responsibilities

<li>Manage a team of staff, ensuring high performance and professional development.</li>

The Council is recruiting for a Business Support Team Leader
The Role
You will play a lead role in the successful management and co-ordination of operational support and administrative activities for the Repairs and Investment Service. This will include administrative support for the Principal Repairs Officer and other Repairs and Maintenance areas within the council. Additionally, you will ensure that the Repairs and Investment Service fully complies with the Councils’ Core Customer Care Standards.
You will have experience of managing and supervising a small team as the role will require managing 3 Business Support Officers and 2 Work Planners in their day to duties. You will ensure the team perform to the expected agreed standards and will develop and nurture their skills in line with performance targets.
Additionally, you will assist Repairs Management in collating and monitoring KPI statistics and assist in processing and dealing with complaints, customer correspondence and customer satisfaction data.
The role requires the candidate to demonstrate substantial experience and knowledge of the social housing sector within a repairs and maintenance framework or the ability to demonstrate equivalent experience as set out in the person specification.
