We have an excellent opportunity available for a Contract Officer to join our motivated Children’s Services Team here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a full time, permanent basis.
As the Contracts Officer, you will play an important role in supporting the team to follow our Contract Management Framework. You will handle key tasks to ensure contracts are managed effectively and efficiently, while providing timely and helpful support to both colleagues within the council and external customers.
This role sits within the Children’s Strategy, Transformation and Commissioning Team, which plays a central role in transforming the way services (internal and external) are designed based on local needs, commissioned, delivered, and monitored in order to deliver quality services and improved outcomes.

Key responsibilities
- To undertake the core administrative activities for contract management including issuing contracts to Providers, overseeing provider due diligence checks, managing communication with providers when notifying of changes to contracts, managing requests and coordinating arrangements required in relation to new contracts and changes to existing contracts. - To support the delivery of the Contract Management Framework for Children’s Services. - Act as Contract Lead for contracts under the responsibility of the Strategy, Transformation &amp; Commissioning team with an annual value of c.£20,000 or less, undertaking day-to-day contract management and supplier relationship management activities throughout the contract lifecycle. - To provide specialist/professional contract advice and recommendations within specific parameters, to support informed decision making.
Candidate requirements: 
- Good standard of education, including excellent literacy and numeracy skills – GCSE Maths and English. - Experience of assisting in delivering change particularly in relation to process improvement. - Experience of writing effective briefings and strategic documents. - A thorough understanding of contracts, including key clauses, compliance requirements, and the ability to interpret and apply contractual terms to ensure effective service delivery and risk management.

We have a great opportunity for an Administrative Assistant on a part-time, permanent basis for 24 hours per week.

The Berkshire Emergency Duty Service (EDS) provides vital out-of-hours social care support for residents across Berkshire. Our specialist team includes Approved Mental Health Professionals, Senior Social Workers (Children), Adult Safeguarding Care Coordinators and Call Screening Officers. Together, we work closely with health partners, the police and families to assess and support individuals experiencing a social care crisis outside of normal working hours.

EDS is recognised as a safe, effective and compassionate service, safeguarding children and vulnerable adults across Berkshire, with positive feedback from both Ofsted and the CQC. An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Community Safety Team as its Business Support Officer.
The role will support the activities of the Community Safety Team, ASB Team and other regulatory and enforcement functions within the Community Safety and Enforcement Service.&nbsp; By supporting a range of operational and strategic meetings, as well as business functions of the team, you will be integral to the delivery of the Community Safety Partnership, Domestic Abuse, Serious Violence and Prevent Boards and activity linked to problem solving.&nbsp; Other regulatory and enforcement activity will be supported including within the services other functions.
The central aim of the Community Safety Team is to improve the safety of local residents and those who work or visit the borough. The Community Safety Partnership has significant responsibilities, including having oversight of the borough’s crime reduction, anti-social behavior and domestic abuse strategy, policy and partnership developments.
The Business Support post has a key role in ensuring the effectiveness and the smooth running of all subgroups and related boards and task and finish groups. The role will work closely with the Community Safety Manager and other key stakeholders to co-ordinate and ensure effective business support for all delivery groups and related work and business support needs for the Wokingham Community Safety Partnership (CSP). This will include the co-ordinating and distribution of minutes, agendas and circulation of all related papers. Accurate record keeping and file maintenance and invoice monitoring and processing.&nbsp;
The successful candidate will have experience of supporting a range of operational and strategic meetings, to a high standard, familiarity with minute taking, experience of gathering information from a range of sources in preparation for meetings and supporting chairs of meetings in advance.&nbsp; &nbsp;Ideally the successful candidate will have experience in social care and community safety environments; is comfortable receiving and processing often sensitive and confidential information and able to work autonomously and at pace.&nbsp; The candidate will also be confident operating in an executive and political enviroment with senior leaders who attend or lead meetings.
The role offers flexible working, although some meetings require in person support, as well as facilitation of hybrid functions which the candidate will be adept at using in their work.
