Age Friendly Community Coordinator

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate coordinator to lead the development and implementation of a borough-wide plan and action plan that supports Hastings to be an 'Age Friendly Community', building on the learning from the Centre for Ageing Better and Age Friendly Network, that is recognised by the World Health Organisation.

This role involves coordinating and delivering social, economic, and health-related projects that address the unique needs of older adults.

Working in partnership with other officers, agencies, and community organisations, the Age Friendly Community Coordinator will play a pivotal role in promoting inclusivity, well-being, and active participation among older residents, in alignment with the Council’s corporate priorities.

Awareness of the needs and concerns of older people, including social isolation, health disparities, and economic barriers together with familiarity with local and national policies that impact on the lives of older people would be useful.

This is a temporary contract until the end of March 2028.
