Chelmsford City Council is offering a summer placement within our Development Management team. As a growing city with a rich heritage, Chelmsford provides a dynamic setting to learn about the planning profession and support key development projects.
Ideal for applicants who have completed or are studying for a postgraduate planning qualification, this role involves reviewing historical planning records, summarising consultation responses and complying with the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017. The postholder will also support wider team projects and develop core planning and administrative skills.We’re looking for a motivated, detail-focused individual with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience using MS Office in an administrative setting is essential. Knowledge of planning legislation or digital systems such as GIS is a bonus. This is a great opportunity to build skills and gain experience within the planning department.
