We are looking for a highly motivated individual ready to lead and manage a dynamic and growing Infrastructure Planning Team, in a borough that has an ambitious programme for regeneration and growth that is inclusive and delivers real benefits for its businesses, residents and communities.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive contribution to ensure regeneration and growth in the borough is delivered in line with Brent’s Local Plan and Borough Plan priorities. As part of the Regeneration Service, you will lead and manage the Infrastructure Planning Team staff, develop and implement innovative and practical infrastructure planning policies, procedures and associated documents, and maximise CIL and s106 collection and income. You will develop a new Infrastructure Delivery Plan, to better prioritise and deploy S106 planning obligations, CIL and other capital investment, to deliver infrastructure that best supports development and growth for the benefit of new and existing communities alike.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced planner (or equivalent background and qualification) to further develop their career in this vibrant and diverse borough in north-west London. This permanent post is based at Brent Council’s award-winning offices at the heart of the Wembley Park regeneration and within walking distance of Wembley Park station.
You will have a passion for infrastructure planning, significant track record of achievement, and will play a key role in ensuring Brent’s communities can participate and share in the benefits of regeneration and growth.
Expertise of people and project management, as well as partnership working between the public and private sector, will be essential to ensure successful leadership, delivery of service objectives, and infrastructure planning and project delivery.
A positive can do attitude and a willingness to deliver innovative ways of doing things will be important, along with the ability to build positive relationships across service areas (internally & externally) and to drive effective engagement with diverse local communities.
